Traiter to his country
No NIL in his day. No guarantee of the Olympics if he's the best in the world but misses a jump at the USA Trials. LOADS of cash offered to perform in Europe at the age of 19.
Like you wouldn't leave the US for a better job in Europe?

Most breweries per capita in the US. Also, lots of strip clubs, but I was there with my wife, so...
Stayed at the Benson Hotel, really cool 100+ y/o hotel in downtown Portland with an excellent lobby bar.
We spent two weeks total in Oregon. After 3 days in Portland drove the Columbia River Gorge, stayed in White Salmon, WA up on the bluff overlooking Hood River for 3 days, went to Mt. Hood for a day, then Bend for 3 days (great brew and hiking), and finished up in Willamette Valley, a must if you like wine.
In Willamette we stayed in McMinnville, great little town in the middle of it all. It also has the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum which houses the Spruce Goose--Howard Hughes' plane that was the largest in the world for decades.
So yes, a great place to visit!

Always liked their cover of John Lennon
It is nice but it's the exact same arrangement, plus strings. Sounds like they're even trying to sing like Lennon.
His draft status is running backwards, just like he does under a pass rush.

My bro was a DJ at KLSU sometime back in the late 80's/early 90's. Went by the name "Brother John". Not a stoner, just a Ph.D. music geek who also put out a music mag called "It's the Music, Stupid". Also had his name on several plaques at the Chimes for drinking around the world.
Played alternative music, interviewed BTE, Becky Sharp, others. Got into trouble with the Program Director for playing the occasional Beatles song.
To this day he goes to clubs in NC listening to and publishing online interviews with alternative bands.

"Sweet Jane" by Cowboy Junkies. Same as above.
Remake of the Lou Reed song with the Velvet Underground. Loved that band and saw them at Tipitina's back around that time.
For those who also haven't heard of it...

Why are people upset about Jeff Landry’s involvement with LSU again?
Because he went to USL.

Mt. Rainier
If it's a clear day and you can go that far, go to Camp Muir, the base camp for climbers. You have to hike to the top of the Skyline Trail from Paradise, then go up the 2+ mile snowfield. On the day we were there it was completely clear. You could see Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens like they were just a few miles away.
Olympic
If you're up for a really scary drive, go down the Hurricane Ridge Road to where the old visitor's center was (burned down 2 years ago, not sure of its future plans). Then take Obstruction Point road to the end (a trailhead). The road is unpaved and goes along tight curves with steep dropoffs. Pray you don't have someone coming the other way for parts of it.

I always said my idea of hell would be stuck in a Joann's Fabric store with "Come on Eileen" playing on a loop.

Love that "Footstompin' Music"...it's an awesome opening song.
It's one of my go-to driving down the highway songs.

I was lucky enough to be perched on the front barricade for the last Allman Bros. appearance at Jazz Fest in 2010. Guitarists were Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks (sitting with his foot in a boot/cast).
Greg was in fine voice that day.
It was beautiful.
Sort of relived that when the Allman Betts Band came to the Saenger a few years back with their "Allman Family Reunion" tour.

I’ve seen him before and he is excellent. Couldn’t make the concert tonight though. However, if you haven’t seen him and you’d like to make plans soon. He got diagnosed with a motor neuron disease several years ago and had announced he was stopping touring. However, he did better than expected so he is on this tour called “Let’s Do It Again“. Reference to lyrics… IYKYK.
By the way, he has a pretty entertaining autobiography released a few years ago. I’d recommend it.

You mean Joe, right? Unless John may be his given name? Bonamassa is one of the greatest blues guitars in the world. I think he is consistently ranked up there with the best alive today. Exceptional vocalist too. This is one of my favorites.

think Europeans drink a lot of instant coffee. So that should tell you what you need to know.
Seems all I see on my Europe trips is espresso--not saying they don't drink instant but I haven't seen it. They take pride in their coffee there. After going there we moved to this at home. We grind our own beans and use the Bialetti Mocha Pot. Strong shite, but great.

'75-79. Freakin' 10/10.
Zep putting out new albums, Beatles fresh off the breakup all putting out cool stuff. Clapton, Boston, Bad Company, Queen, Stones, Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, ZZ Top...all at their peak. Cool women like Pat Benatar, Blondie, Linda Ronstadt. Then we had the beginning of new wave and ongoing punks like the Clash, Ramones, the Cars, the Police, the Talking Heads...
So much to mention. And my wife always asks why I play old stuff...
Had to post this one after seeing yours...20 years earlier and classic.

That’s because we had to wait in line outside of the stadium at 4 o’clock in the afternoon for the gates to open and actually get in to get a seat.
One of my top 5 bands of all time.
