I suspect Bama will be firing deboer before Kelly is done at lsu.

You should be worried about how Bama will do in Baton Rouge this year.

His coaching hires prior to this year has been his issues

Are you saying in order to be compared to Miles, Kelly should win a title this year?

I think it doubtful Kelly wins a title this year, but he seems to me to be a bit more of a methodical coach, meaning he puts his team together slowly, but methodically until he get all the pieces he wants in place.

He has to win a title at some point to be compared to Miles or any other coach that won one at LSU.

I don't think it is likely that he wins a title this year either. There are still too many missing pieces on defense, but he's going to be here at least 5-6 years barring a complete collapse, so all we LSU fans can do is go along for the ride.

After the debacle of a season opener LSU put on last year, if I were an LSU fan I wouldn’t believe a word Kelly says until he proves it.

With a completely new defensive system, Kelly now has no excuses for his team to be getting steamrolled in games. Baker is an infinitely better DC than House in all aspects. They should be competitive against every top 25 opponent they play.

1. Kelly isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

2. Why do you care?

I think what Saban inherited from Dinardo was worse than what BK inherited.

Kelly inherited 36 scholarship players. 36.

Not even close. Saban actually inherited a decent roster from Dinardo. He was a pretty good recruiter but a shitty coach.

State of the program? Absolutely worse

Personnel wise? Not close. Rohan Davey, Domanick Davis, Josh Reed, LaBrandon Toefield, Bradie James, Damien James, Ryan Clark etc. Basically the nucleus of that 2001 SEC Championship team were DiNardo recruits. BK did inherit a few studs like Ojulari and some future ones like Nabers and Johnson but the team as a whole was mostly roster filler types, not to mention under 40 players in all.

It was honestly shocking to see an LSU defense that bad last year. That's just totally unacceptable.

The players hated and had no respect for house. They ignored him and wouldn’t even look him in the eye after the bowl game.

Matt House was fricking terrible.

My LSU neighbor said the same thing. Said it all fell on Matt House. Hopefully there is a big turnaround for ya'll this year.

If Kelly doesn’t make the playoffs the next two seasons, his seat will be extremely hot going into year five. If he can’t make the playoffs the following season he will be gone. I can not see anyway that LSU gives him more than 5 seasons if he doesn’t at the least make the playoffs.

Bama getting deboer is a win for bama and LSU. So far he hasn't tried to come in Louisiana for recruits. Saben loved coming here to cherry pick. Now we are having to hold off Texas for them.

Not only that,
But go far in the playoff.

Getting in is a great thing, but missing in year three means y ou have to make up for it in the fourth year.

Winning the opener would be a good first step considering they haven’t done it since 2019

I think Kelly would have won an NC had he followed Saban like Miles did. There’s a certain amount of positive inertia created by Saban’s organization. DeBoer will also benefit from inheriting from Saban. It’s whether he can sustain it.

Saban had LSU ready to go on a roll.

the 2005-2006 teams were fricking loaded. Had he stayed to maintain the recruiting I think he actually could have been as successful at LSU as he was at Alabama. Which is saying something.

Miles and Orgeron definitely walked into better situations than Kelly.

thats being said the results year 1 were pretty impressive

that’s OL returned no one and started 2 freshmen at tackle
The Secondary was completely retooled. brought in every Cb that saw any playing time.

Kelly isn’t going anywhere for the next 4-5 years probably. 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes are loaded. He can lose to USC he just can’t lose these recruiting classes.
