Grew up in the metro Atlanta suburbs, as a UGA fan. I knew I wanted to go to a large SEC school, as opposed to the smaller private liberal arts and regional state universities that my bro/sis went to. Summer before senior year, I visited Carolina as a "backup" to UGA. By the end of the weekend, I was bleeding Garnet. Felt like home the moment I was on campus. Got into UGA and USC, and USC's scholarship package rivaled the HOPE program. Off to Columbia I went.

Even though I didn't grow up there, SC is home.

Grew up 20 minutes from Columbia in Lexington SC. Started going to games when I was 3 years old. Graduated from USC in 2012.

Born and raised on these H Town streets. I've been all over the world, but I've never stayed more than 100 mi away for more than 3 weeks.

From Columbus, Ms which is bout halfway between MSU and Bama. Grew up in Bama household with season tickets as a youngster . Wasn’t good enough to play SEC baseball but played D2 so didn’t attend Bama . Ended up graduating from MSU but that doesn’t erase my love for Bama. Don’t understand how people change their fandom based on where they go to school . Had one daughter graduate from Bama and another on the way so I feel my being a Bama fan is “ legitimized “

Oh ok. Good to know. You feel superior to all of the peasant “fans” who never got the opportunity to attend your precious college yet they pour their hard earned dollar into your Alma matter’s athletic and even academic process?

You should definitely feel like you’re above them.

Originally I'm Alabama, in fact, if memory serves me correctly, I was actually born in Tuscaloosa (my folks were staying with my grandparents in some small town just outside of Tuscaloosa while my dad was in Vietnam.). So my entire life I was an Alabama fan, even though we moved out of the state when I was two and never moved back.

Arkansas was where the family farm (now sold) was located so Arkansas sort of became my secondary team in college sports. Well fast forward quite some time and I wound up going to the University of Arkansas for my degree. Loved the area and still miss it dearly. Alabama has sort of fallen by the way side for me, much like how I was a big fan of the Chicago Bears when I lived up there.

For me, I grew up in Oklahoma surrounded by Sooners and it’s all I knew.

I always liked LSU but never considered myself a big diehard fan.

Senior year of HS I went to Nola for New Years. It was a week before the LSU BAMA National title game. That’s when I started really becoming interested in LSU then I ended up going to school there. It could have easily been BAMA had I been convinced based only on the results of the FB game. Louisiana culture and LSU was something I fell in love with. I haven’t looked back since. Once I took a few tours of LSU’s campus I knew it was for me. My first gameday experience was as a student. I never went to a game prior to that.

What’s your story on how you came to be a fan of your respective SEC team?

Born and grew up in Memphis. Grew up an LSU fan because my mother is from Baton Rouge and my grandparents had season tickets to basically everything, of which now have been passed down to my mother and our family. My mom went to school at a small private college in Memphis (Rhodes) where she met my father, but the vast majority of her side of the family went to LSU.

Depends on how you define "not from".

I was born on a military base to Yankee parents who had zero connection to Louisiana until my dad's three year enlistment was up and he took a job with a chemical plant in Ascension Parish. So I lived in Baton Rouge for 24 out of the first 27 years of my life and was a Tiger fan as far back as I can possibly remember. Started going to games when I was 6 or 7. Went to LSU for 8 years to get a bachelor's and master's.

But I never really considered myself to be from Louisiana because my family wasn't really from there. My parents both had deep Midwestern roots and when we visited family it was always a long drive or plane ride. We drank Pepsi and ate liverwurst FFS. At Christmas, one set of grandparents would send Iowa or Iowa State shirts and the other grandparents would send Cleveland Browns crap. My parents were the very definition of "damn Yankees".

I've lived in Oregon for 16 years now. I'm not "from" here either but then again not many people are. My wife, an unrepentant Yankee, drinks Pepsi. I drink Coke and Barq's when I can find it. We have a LSU alumni crawfish boil every spring. 90 minutes to snow capped mountains or to the coast (but the water is damn cold). But now I have to fly pretty much anytime I want to visit relatives and that's okay.

Don't know where the hell I'm "from" anymore. Just an American mutt blessed to live in the land of the free because of the brave.

Born in Boston, raised in Kentucky. Graduated from UK, UGA and a nonSEC school. Attended two other nonSEC schools. Got hooked on UK football (yes, I know how strange that sounds) and can't shake it. I have a perfectly logical alternative in UGA but there's no explaining, yet, why the brain works the way it does.

I went to a LSU/UK game at Commonwealth back in 2001 and was really impressed by the atmosphere. It was a really nice place to watch a game. Couple that with the horse racing and bourbon and you've got a mighty fine place to visit.

It means where you spent most of your life. I have to answer this all the time for military families. It means where you spent a majority of your life and choose to claim. In your case I’d say Baton Rouge

I’m not from the US. No body in my family knew the first thing about it so it took me a while to get into it and understand. I started following Alabama just because some of our close family friends went there and so I caught a couple of Bama games.
