Passing Yards: Aaron Murray (Georgia, 2010–2013) :13,166 career passing yards

Rushing Yards: Herschel Walker (Georgia, 1980–1982): 5,259 career rushing yards

Receiving Yards: DeVonta Smith (Alabama, 2017–2020) : 3,965 career receiving yards

Total Touchdowns: Tim Tebow (Florida, 2006–2009) : with 145.

All-Purpose Yards: Kevin Faulk (LSU, 1995–1998) :6,833 all-purpose yards

Total Tackles: Andy Spiva Tennessee (1973–1976) 547 tackles

Sacks: Derrick Thomas Alabama (1985–1988) 52.0 sacks

Interceptions: Antonio Langham Alabama (1990–1993) 19 interceptions

Which falls first under "5-in-5"?

5ever, obviously

Edit: but seriously the tackles record looks the most attainable maybe (maybe not it's the oldest one)? That or passing yards.

If Derrick Henry didn't break Herschel's rushing record nobody will imo. And Tebow was the perfect sweet spot of "bad in the NFL, elite for college game" that will be tough to beat.

If a player is that good that they put up big numbers year in and out, they will not be there for 5 years.

There are plenty of very good, and very productive, college players that aren't NFL level athletes.

I didn't realize the rule meant you can play for 5 years? I thought it just meant the clock starts and you have to play your 4 within that 5 year window?

Derrick Henry should hold every rushing record in the SEC, but he mostly sat on the bench his first couple of years with us. Now, it isn't like he was sitting behind chumps - we were beyond stacked at RB during those years - but still, we're talking about Derrick fricking Henry. It was obvious whenever he did see the field that he was the best back on the team. If he had started his entire career with us as he should have, the question of who was the #1 RB in SEC history wouldn't even be a question.

Most of the elite athletes who rack up numbers to challenge these records won't be around 5 years, anyway. I'd guess some Bowling Green/FAU level players will be the most likely to be a threat.

Passing Yards:

With some of the pass happy offenses out there now, anyone starting 5 full years could break it. Taking Jaxson Dart, he only played 3 seasons and was less that 3000 yards from record. He would have done it with a 4th year and he is just one example.

Rushing Yards:

Maybe never unless we drop the pass heavy offenses. Walker is only one to top 5000 yards and only 4 other players have been within 1000 yards of that record. Nobody has been close since 2017.

Receiving Yards:

This one falls with passing if they get the right combo, but it will for sure fall. The record was set in 2020.

Total Touchdowns:

This is one like rushing that could not fall easily. There are only 2 players in history of SEC with TD/year average that could have overtaken Tebow with a 5th year added on. Johnny Manziel averaged most TDs per year (10 more than Tebows avg.), but only played 2 years.

And he started all three of those years.

Derrick Henry barely saw the field in 2013 because Saban didn't care how talented of a RB you were; if you couldn't block for the QB, you were all but useless to him.

Henry started only one season the three years he was at Alabama and he rushed for over 2,000 yards in that season.
