Zuniga is a beast. Will be a handful against any O-line.

UF does have a good DL. Miami’s OL was youthful though. Hard to tell how great the DL really is, we will know more in the upcoming weeks.

Yes, Slaton was out.

Their D line looked great, the guy from Louisville is quick. Not sure about their depth.
Weird game, looked like Fla was going to blow them out then turnover city.
Their OL looked weak.

According to the PFF scores, the secondary had a really bad day. I counted 7 missed tackles by the two starting safeties.
Just a really sloppy game. Hopefully that improves.
The DL is not the most talented on paper, but they are deep, veteran, and experienced. Very blue collar. Will be fun to watch them this year.

Wasn’t most of that on one wildcat run?

From Grantham's stint at Georgia, I wouldn't count on a ton of improvement in that area. The biggest knock on him has always been the lack of emphasis on fundamentals.
Here's a Louisville fan from '15

I have always thought that fans usually know a lot more about their teams than the national experts. That is why I was really concerned about the Grantham hire after the Georgia fans celebrated us "stealing" him away.
You don't need to be a D1 coach to know this D has some serious talent. Rankins, Kelsey, Burgess, Harvey-Clemons are all NFL players. Still the D is getting progressively worse since the start of last season. Fundamentals are getting worse
That took 15 seconds of googling to find. There are plenty more testimonials.

Testimonials from fans?
Wow. that settles it...

That seems pretty consistent to me over time.
I was never super excited about the hire, but the guy is clearly a decent DC.

Poor tackling, lots of PI calls, and third and Grantham. It's not a fun future UF has in store

Nobody will know how good Florida’s D-Line actually is until they play a decent oline. Their first test will be Kentucky.

They dont want to listen. Louisville didn't either. They'll see soon enough.

Grantham leaves in starters for blowouts to pad the stats.
No other team does that.
It is why there is a "skewed favorable number" for Grantham and all of a sudden against good/great teams you get duds.
Why does Grantham do it? He gets paid on those stats. He gets his next job on those stats.
How will it hurt Florida? The fans will be overconfident as they face better teams. And even worse, the younger players will be unprepared to play a season or two down the road.
Wash rinse repeat. Check out the games where the opponents get 60 yards rushing and then a few weeks later 200+ to go along with 30+ points. Grantham doesn't change his stripes.

Zuniga, Greenard, & Houston are really good IMO. Their DB’s looked terrible.
DL & LB are strong.

Miami only had two good runs all night. One was a wildcat. They didn't run the ball well. Just got us one that wild cat really.
Obviously their line was awful. Our secondary had a bad night though. Hopefully that gets worked out these next two weeks. I highly doubt Wilson and Henderson forgot how to tackle though..just first night and probably haven't hit much in camp.

10 sacks in the P5 is elite level no matter how you slice it.
That being said, they'll need to dominate the LoS every game because the rest of that team looked quite pedestrian.
Does anyone remember a game where a team got 10 sacks and didn't blow out the opponent?

10 sacks at D1 level is pretty outstanding.

I think they are a pretty solid line but were highlighted due to Miami bad O line

AU vs Clemson a couple years ago. Think we were sacked 11 times and lost 14-6

quote:Did you watch or just pick stats? Most of Dallas' yardage came from a couple wildcat runs. The rest were pretty pedestrian at best.
They are very good at rushing the passer, but not so great at stopping the run (Miami RB Dallas finished the game with 7.9 ypc).
