A lot depends on the size of your tract and even more importantly your neighbors. I personally have 180 acres and going after mature is more important to me than rack. I try to go for 4+ year olds but know I've taken some 3 year olds. It's hard to tell most of the time for me between 3 and 4 but I've never been disappointed although I think I should've let some walk and got to excited. It all depends on what's a trophy for you
