Cause Nicky Fitz was as accurate as an SEC Rant poster on passes over 10 yards. And I can’t name a RB or WR from Mullen’s last team. Defense wasn’t the problem.

Just excuse me on this one.
I took the afternoon off and got high for the first time in a good while.

Seems you're already falling back since he left as well
Moorhead just put together a better recruiting class at MSU than Mullen ever had. The team will fall back a little this year because Mullen didn't recruit well in 2017, but I think we'll be all right.

Cause Dan Mullen is a good coach but not great or excellent.
He doesn't know how to win against tough opponents unless he completely outmatches them in athletic talent.

Underachiever that if we hadn't lost to UK and Mizz (knowing we shouldn't have) we would have been a lot higher in the polls.
But you are right....

BTW, let me know when MSU reaches #1 in the nation again.

Gator fans are misinterpreting this thread and looking like little ninnies. This was a dig at his fellow MSU fans. They are in a situation much like we were when Meyer signed on with Ohio State and 90% of the fans started hating on him.

I remember. We were appreciative in the beginning but definitely had a red arse over it. And the better he did at OSU the more folks at UF hated on him. If he would have sucked after leaving UF everyone would have remembered him fondly.

Would Mullen have been better? Maybe, maybe not.
Mississippi State won their bowl game in 2017 while missing their HC, DC and Co-Oc(s). Come on and get real.

The same HC, DC, and OCs who had just lost at home to a .500 Ole Miss team.
So what's your point?

Mullen did to State the exact same thing Dennis Franchione did to Bama in 2002. Franchione was already mentally checked out at Bama and his mind was in College Station the last two games he “coached” at Bama. Got beat why an injury depleted, white running back, led Auburn team and then almost by Hawaii. Mullen didn’t give a damn about beating Ole Miss that year. His mind and wallet was already in Gainesville.

I'm pretty sure Fitzgerald's leg being on the wrong way had more to do with losing to Ole Miss than any other factor.

I wouldn't argue against that. You're probably right.
But Mullen was never in that game. Or the Arkansas game before that. He was long gone.
That's why I argue that Dan wouldn't have won any more games than JoMo did last year.
Spurrier said, long ago when he left Florida, that 10 years was more than enough time at one place. It was time for Mullen to move on.
