That's just not how it works.

You do realize the only difference in those records is the Bowl victory over Louisville? The Bowl victory that Dan didn't coach

Actually the difference is you lose to Kentucky and LSU. Two teams you had no problem with in 2017 and get absolutely wrecked by in 2018.

Beat the teams like Florida, Kentucky, LSU, and Iowa like you're supposed to and no one is complaining.

Yeah, I can't argue that one. The most frustrating loss since the Croom era, imo.

And they physically whipped State, when it's always been the other way around.

Honestly put LSU, Florida, and Kentucky in that category. Alabama was the same way but they do that to a lot of good teams over the years so I won't dwell on that one.

The LSU one is the one that is the most embarrassing to me because you come off a bye week following a nice momentum win over Auburn and put out the worst offensive display of the season. And to make matters worse, Moorhead still stuck with Fitz the rest of the season. Unreal.

Lucky for us after that game the competition sucked so we got some easy wins.

There's a time and place to have expectations and this was one of them. If you're going to come in with this "championship standard" "ring size" thing and that is the result we get, I have no clue what to tell you.

As a result of that my expectations for this year are very minimal. So make progress and I'll be back on board.

But as one of the few people at the spring game, my confidence isn't any better.

Gotta get special talent at playmaker on offense. Fitz obviously wasn't a gifted passer, but he had the worst WR group in the SEC every year, too. That hasn't changed, as far as I know.

It could be a very bumpy year ahead

Guidry and Mitchell were in midseason drop form in the spring game

I agree with you. I've been trying to figure out scenarios for state to even make it to 6

This year was strange for UF. Mullen lost to Kentucky at home in his 2nd game. Not even Zook, Muschamp or McElwain lost to UK.
Not good.
Then he wins 5 in a row including at UT, at MSU and LSU at home, and after going down 21-3 at Vandy, brings the Gators back to win.
Everything good.
Then we lose to UGa by 19 and lose to Mizzou by 21 at home.
Mullen bad again.
Finally Mullen brings us back at home vs Carolina after trailing the whole game and down 10 in the 4th quarter. We went on to beat FSU and Michigan who had been owning us.
Mullen ends up smelling like a rose.

So while Mullen is basking in the adoration of the Florida fans this off season, it wasn't all wine and roses in 2018.

He'll get the Gators there

I don't think he's a 10-20 year guy. I'm not sure they make those kind of coaches anymore. But Mullen will be successful at UF. He has that single-minded determination that it takes.

I'm pulling for him, actually

Difference is you had a more experienced team and looked like a much worse team.

Meanwhile Florida went from 4 wins to a top ten finish.

Pretty obvious why.

Mullen. Now...get back to mediocrity. We have another top ten year to start.

3 losses were to Auburn, Bama, and UGA. That’s the SEC West champs and the 2 teams that played for a NC and overall more talented.

Two of those were complete mud stomps though.

Man I hope he is here 10 years. We need to have some stability. Since Spurrier was here for 12 seasons we have had Zook for 3, Meyer for 6, Muschamp for 5, and McElwain for 3 years. So most of the kids coming through UF have had more than one coach.

I didn't see anyone really flipping out after any of the loses because it was year one, and we had very low expectations(besides credit where it is due to straws).

I think his hardest critics were on the recruiting side. A lot of fans were tough on his recruiting, but he closed well. He does need more five stars though. I love the first two classes in terms of balancing the roster, but we have to close the big name kids a little more as well to compete with Clemson or Bama type teams.

Still. Mullen has the fan base in the palm of his hands right now...and he has earned that. He won two titles as an OC here, when he left the offense regressed massively. He comes back and in one year has the best offense we've had since 2009.

Kind of hard not to like this guy right now for sure.

You're a douche. He was complimenting your coach. Get some self-esteem.

As for the Ole Miss loss, it was the ultimate FU to Ole Miss. We ended up with a Jr Gas Station Attendant as our HC.

The thread is literally a bash of him by butthurt fans who are mad he left them. How about your fan base thanks him for staying at a shite school for so long instead of trying to bash him, despite being the best coach in your history.

You really are a dullard.

This is half-way down the first page:

"I agree.

OP is just a poke at the MSU fans bitching about Coach JoMO wasting all the talent. Some are saying Mullen would have gone 11-1 this past year "
