It was about right place right time, same way arky and usce got in. Sec wanted in to Texas and mizzou was the prettiest single friend

I've answered the question many times but I'll answer it again.
The B1G announced they wanted to expand.
Mizzou's football coach whined the governor spoke and Mizzou lifted their skirt. Nebraska was so pissed at Texas after the 2009 B12 CCG at Jerrahworld they jumped rank. The B1G vastly preferred NEB for football so they agreed to invite them instead.
Then the whole DeLOSS Dodds debacle came about he wouldn't give up his shitty toy everyone hated (LHN) so that prevented us from joining the PXVI we had spots for OSU, OU, Tech, Aggy, & us lined up.
Aggy also got cold feet and really wanted SEC so they groveled to Sieve and Mizzou rode the coattails. Meanwhile DeLOSS convinced us to sign the BDF GoR and frick us over for a solid straight 15 years.
