Mizzou isn’t a stereotypical sec school, but I’ll give credit where do. They’ve been competitive in sec play and is overall a positive addition. Might not be the flashiest add or the best add but no denying they’ve been a net positive for the sec.

9 in a row is just a shocking number for an "SEC" team
Kansas won 18 in a row
Rutgers won 18 in a row
Minnesota 24 in a row
Maryland 20 in a row
Stanford 17 in a row
Basically Missouri has never had a "great" season, how are they in the SEC??

This is a respectable response, even if it only happened once
Ill be honest I dont know the history of Missouri football, or lack there of
It just seems strange any conference wanted you with 0 National Championships all time and 0 conference championships since 1969
edit: Gary Pinkel was really good (Hall of Famer)

It hasn’t been about markets in 10 years. It’s about brands , which makes it more mysterious

If you are talking about broadcast TV markets, I would agree. However, at the time Missouri and A&M were admitted it was most certainly about cable TV marketts, and sports packages within cable television subscriptions. If the SEC network got included in a sports package (which it did) in a baseball crazy market like St. Louis or Kansas City. The SEC network was paid a certain amount per subscription whether that subscriber watched the SEC network or not. Read a couple articles. It was a huge win for Slive. The Texas market, especially but also St. Louis and Kansas City helped him negotiate that blockbuster deal.

You do realize 2011 was 15 years ago, right?
I don't think there would be an SECN without A&M and Mizzou.

All time mizzOU has two national championships. 1954 baseball and 1965 indoor track. Why do they play varsity sports, their not very good

Real answer? Blame Florida. President Bernie Machen was also Chairman of the SEC Presidents and Chancellors at that time. He grew up in Missouri. He spent a lot of political capital getting Missouri in. North Carolina schools seemed to be off limits. West Virginia and Virginia Tech were the ones that the talkers on TV thought would be good. They would actually make sense in the SEC East. Academically Missouri and Virginia were the only options with AAU membership. Virginia had that ACC exit fee obstacle. At the end Machen helped convince people to go with Missouri and double the number of AAU schools in the SEC from two (Vanderbilt and Florida) to four with Missouri and Texas A&M.

Sorry I guess you don't think beyond first level thinking... My reading comprehension is fine. MORE MONEY buys you better coaches and in the age of NIL, better players, which should translate to Championships... Sitting around collecting money to stick in your shoebox isn't how you become a Blueblood... Do better Mizzery. (Try harder)

Wut? You didn't whoop us in November last year... what's this "again" shite? Are you stuck in 2024?
Mizzery gonna be mizzerable as always.
