Lane is a great hire for LSU, but he has his own little issues both on and off the field and I know most LSU fans are aware of that and have admitted as such. He’s very hit or miss about certain things, and I know he will drive some LSU fans INSANE with some of his bonehead 4th down calls. Dude has a proclivity for just being obtuse on those, and also just some character issues off the field. Lol, the stories from people I know that knew him at Alabama were enough to make me relieved he wasn’t staying all those years ago, and is why I was pretty sure he wouldn’t be in the running after Saban retired, but it’s possible he's cleaned up his act.

Agreed with all of that. He's a gamble and could be a great hire.

He's a great offensive mind and built a great team before leaving Ole Miss. Before his last year there he arguably missed some big opportunities.

The maturity to elevate a program into either a consistent winner or a championship team is the hope but not yet demonstrated.

His troll game is world class but that's not what you get paid for.

Not that I would say that LSU fans are two-faced hypocrites or anything, I was just wondering how you all felt about Lane before he ever flirted with the LSU job.

So you're saying they'd act like ole piss fans?

I thought he was a goofball who coached really good offense.

I still think he's a goofball who coaches really good offense.

Thought he was a very good coach that was never destined to stay at Ole Miss as long as he did. Just knew he was going to Auburn then last year said dang he is headed to Florida and knew they were going to be a problem. Then well BK was gone and we had our shot. Not a fan of the Twitter stuff but know that's whats kids like so dont care as long as he coaches well and wins.

I viewed him as just another SEC head coach that was at a rival school…nothing more, nothing less.

I’ll add I was really worried he’d go to Florida and haunt us.

Well now he’s at LSU and we no longer play Florida every year

But thinking I don’t want another top program we play to get him means he’s a good coach. I’m sure if others were honest they’d say they feel the same about him being at LSU.

Kiffin seems to burn bridges.

LSU may be his last one.

We thought he was a knee walking drunk and a drug addict who had to be narcaned on a bathroom floor and stalked 18 year old girls who got a restraining order against him while he was knocking up other 18 year old girls who he convinced to get an abortion.

Actually we didn’t know any of that until the Ole Miss tabloid rumor mill really got going. We actually just thought he was a good coach with a great offensive mind.

I know y'all love a good revisionist history, but man y'all have quickly forgot all the Lane Kiffin sucks threads started by LSU fans from 2023-2025.

Thought he was one of the best offensive coordinators ever and also slayed college poon.

A twitter troll and an emotional fairy boy, but still an outstanding offensive mind

It's possible. He seems like a good hire but nothing is a slam dunk. On paper, you can't really say he's any better than Brian Kelly.

I do like that he seems to be at the peak of his career in the NIL/portal era, BK never adapted to that.

The good news is that if only half of the Ole Miss stories are true, it won't be hard to find cause.

Do y’all remember that dude named Yancey something or other who used to run the Ole Miss Rivals site years ago? (Who names their kid Yancey?). Dude was literally wrong about every take he had on Ole Miss recruiting. They were going to sign every 5 star they were after, who ultimately signed with LSU or some other school. I wonder if that’s who their getting all their tabloid rumors from regarding Lane.

Neither LSU nor Lane Kiffin have anything to do with Butch Jones and Joshua Dobbs yet somehow you brought him into it and argued about TN unfair treatment of him 16 years ago.

Actually an Alabama fan brough Kiffin into the thread by saying he was the worst coach in TN history. It’s at the bottom of page 1 of your thread
