I think they also miss NewSping and sign stealing...

What the hell was Dabo thinking when he rehired Chad Morris

With all their competitive advantages are gone it’s pretty clear Dabo was just a cheerleader the whole time.
That was an untalented and poorly coached team on the field last night. I’m not sure they had a single offensive player who would start for a top tier SEC team.

I think the stars aligned when Venables left Clemson right as the NIL era started. He likely saw that Dabo wouldn’t adapt, and then Lincoln Riley left us overnight. Venables clearly has a much better, more modern approach to NIL than Dabo does.

In nature, when an environment undergoes a radical change, it is the species that are best adapted to the old environment who die out first.
Dabo was perfectly adapted to how things used to be done. Well, the times they are a changin'.

They definitely miss BV, but there issues are far more egregious than not having 1 person. Clemson will remain very mid until they adapt to the current landscape of CFB.

More than anything, Dabo probably misses the days when nobody else used the transfer portal, either.

Dabo's reached the stage of his career where whatever he used to do doesn't work, and rather than adapt, he's doubling down on what he used to do by doing things like rehiring Chad Morris. Posted this in another thread but it's like Houston Nutt hiring David Lee or Les Miles hiring Cam Cameron. Telltale sign of a coach who's on the way out.
Interesting thing for Dabo is that he's never been a coordinator so not like he can catch on as an OC with a successful coach for a few years to learn some new tricks. Unfortunately I think we'll see this idiot on TV at some point.

Well, Dabo also had two phenom QBs in that stretch when their offense was awesome with some really good talent around those QBs on offense too. Venables was obviously good too.
Dabo accomplished incredible things at Clemson that no one imagined. He played a huge part in the success they had and and how he did it worked for that time. But it's time. He didn't adjust to this new CFB works with NIL and the portal and those who don't adapt die out. Last night was a death.

Whatever the answer is it's less than Texas enjoys OU having Venables.

Tony Elliot leaving has hurt them. Tony might be the next coach at Clemson if he has another great year at VA.

Receivers are pretty good, one will be a pretty high draft pick. They have three defensive players projected in the top 50, but I was not impressed.

Game changer, nil-transfer portal, Dabo hasn’t

Not as much as they miss having a strong collective. You gotta pay for professionals.
They probably miss having a good general manager, if they have one at all. If you don't have a team scouting other colleges; excellent roster manager; and someone who manages the salaries of these kids, etc., then you are toast.
Dabo is a dinosaur !!
