Bama does have a QB coming back that can run the offense. Mac Jones is very capable. He's no Tua but he should be solid, we should be alright.
Arkansas
...
It was Arkansas!!
Also, you entitled fricks are in for a rude awakening after all those receivers leave - you'll see how much they carried Tuna the last 2 years.

Burrow played at LSU last year.
Not just Burrow. The only players we replaced from last year on offense was an OL and TE. Everyone else is back from last year.

Here are my concerns about Joe Brady
He has an elite QB running his system who, unlike 95% of the quarterbacks in college football, is able to make multiple reads before choosing his target.
I am really curious to see how his system works next year with Myles Brennan under center.
And did you and the rest of the CFB world have this opinion of Burrow before this season ?????
Uh, nooooooooooooooo..

Brennan won’t be burrow, but he will be a 4th and 5th year player with a great arm. I think Brady will be able to put him in position to do well.

I’ve seen folks around here recently suggesting that Burrow isn’t all he’s hyped up to be because the huge jump from last year to this year means it’s the “system”.
On the other hand, I’ve seen folks suggest that Brady isn’t all he’s hyped up to be because he has a Heisman front runner at QB.
Here’s the reality: Burrow is/was better than his numbers indicated last year. He was not running a system that compliments his abilities, and he had limited time with the team before the season started.
At the same time, Brady deserves credit for implementing a system that caters to Byrrow’s (and our WR corp’s) strengths. Burrow is a stud, AND those receivers are getting open on mismatches all over the field.
I don’t expect Myles Brennan to win a Heisman Trophy, break LSU records, and complete 80% of his passes next year. But Myles will be a RS junior and he has a cannon for an arm. Not to mention the fact that we will only lose one starting WR to the draft and could return 3-4 OL. LSU fans are as anxious to see what Myles can do with the 1’s as anyone, but I don’t expect the offense to go back to the Stone Age next year.

OP, did you see LSU play in 2018 with Jeaux at the helm? Elite qb's do not wait til their 5th year in college to be elite.
Jeaux is a very good qb who, through his hard work and a great coach/system, has become a Heisman candidate.
I have faith that our O coaches will make Myles Brennan as good as he can be. In 2 years he might not win a Heisman, but he will be better than most LSU qb's IF he will work at it.
PS Our topnotch receivers also need much credit. They are elite talents and have been trained by an elite coach.

Brennan next season will be better than any QB that Bama or Auburn has.
And definitely better than Mond.
And definitely better than Mond.

Not a soul would’ve called joe elite last year.
Posted on 11/12/19 at 1:13 pm to ThaiTiger24
so you think Joe Burrow was an elite QB in 2018 ?
My point being, the two compliment each other. it's not all one and none of the other.

Are you just saying this, or do you truly believe this? From what I've heard about Brennan from LSU fans is that they aren't all that impressed. I honestly don't know much about him. Hasn't looked all that impressive in garbage time, but not really fair to gauge him solely on that.

We literally have 4 coaches better than your HC and your worried about our coaching?

I thought last year that Joe had the tools to be really good(maybe not THIS good) and you have to remember that coming from no significant playing time in D1 games to playing big boy football in the SEC, there was a curve for Joe last year, and it showed.
But he absolutely showed signs of elite QBing if placed in the right system last season IMO.

Mac will have a lot of push.
Tualia has a lot of the same intangibles as Tua, though he is a tad shorter.
Bryce Young, though, is seriously legit. I think the goal will be to redshirt him next year, but considering how lights out he's played?
I'm just saying Mac will be pushed and will have to hold onto his spot.
I'm curious LSU fans - I've not seen anyone (here at least) talk about Max Johnson. Is he still on campus? Any reason he's not getting any love despite being a 4* out of HS last year?

Burrow was a 57.8% passer last year with 16 TDs and 5 INTs. To put that in perspective, it was worse than the likes of Shurmer, Guarantano, Bentley, Stidham, and Franks. Not to mention the good QBs in the SEC last year. That's worse than Danny Etling in 2017! Burrow has the physicals and the football IQ, but he's elite this year because of Brady's system.

I agree, I hope he is pushed. But if he's the man next year, I think we will be alright.

considering he's still in high school I don't think he's spending much time on the LSU campus this fall.

Sigh, you're right - I thought I was looking at your 2019 commits when I saw him. My bad.

At this point no one knows. What we do know is Brennan:
Was an elite 11 4 star QB
He's the Miss. all time passing leader
He threw for 48TDs vs 3 INTs as a SR (111 TDs vs 11INTs SR and JR)
He'll be a RS JR next season having had time to learn Brady's system
He ran a very similar system in HS so he is familiar
He'll have nearly all of the offense returning and if CEH goes pro he is replaced by the #1 and #6 RBs from the 2019 recruiting class
We also, likely will bring in the top WR class in the nation
We also are adding the #1 TE Arik Gilbert
Lastly, the current buzz is that Zach Evans the #1 2020 RB will e a Tiger
Bottom line is the O should be fine.

Some of you guys are nuts..well very wrong headed in this case.
Burrow came out of high school in 2015. In those 3 year he had a combined 18 tds 5 ints. Last year he had 16 tds 5 ints with pretty much the same supporting cast as this year.
He is on pace to have 48 tds 6 ints over 13 games, the same number as LSU played last season.
Brady has worked a near miracle. I'd do cartwheels if Georgia hired him to replace Coley as our OC. I'd actually have to pay my niece to do the cartwheels but in my mind I'd be doing them.
