I actually have no problem with you making money. I have a problem with you saying it’s okay for you to make money, but the insurance industry shouldn’t be profitable.
I know that’s hard for you to comprehend. Everyone got to choose their profession in life as far as I know. I’m all for you making money brother.

Damn, that must really suck for you then. You went to law school, ended up as an injury attorney and make less money than a worthless poster who doesn’t make a lot of money according to you

Would it be nice for your agent to call, sure. Is it possible all the time with massive books of business? No. Is it still your fault? Yes.
Tell me, what company did they write it through? Are you using an independent broker?

It’s YOUR responsibility to pay your bill. You sound like a major dumbass
Sometimes underwriting guidelines change. Your policy can be grandfathered in and won’t be non-renewed. If you don’t pay your bill and it cancels, that’s your problem.
If your auto cancels and can’t be reinstated, it has to be rewritten at new rates.
Basically what I’m telling you is your whole line is bs

You’ve never heard of county tax auctions for past due property tax?

I agree with you, but the OP is doing what most attorneys do which is paint one side in a negative light while taking zero responsibility

Your premise is that the claim was truly worth $500k to begin with.
False

Lawyers working on contingency are fronting expenses such as experts, court costs, etc before any money is recovered. You’re also taking on a risk that you get poured out by Judge or Jury without recovery, or that the defendant is broke by the time of trial. For bigger cases, you’re also carrying on that risk / lack of payment for years as death / catastrophic cases typically take 2-3 years to resolve.
How weird is it to justify injury attorneys exorbitant fees but complain about insurance company profits.

If they truly deserved $500k, why did the insurer only offer $50k before the lawyer got involved? So the lawyer brought an additional $450k to the case and gets a percentage for doing so. And your gripe is that he charged a fee on the value he brought to the case that the insurer refused to pay before he got involved?
The lawyer didn’t bring shite. The threat of drawn out litigation and cost encourages the carriers to settle regardless of whether the claim is worry of that payout or not.
I saw a billboard in Monroe this weekend where Morgan and Morgan won a 120 million dollar case against an insurance company. Is the intent of insurance to indemnify? Tell me how 120 million is making someone whole?

Insurance will still be very much needed, it will just transfer the risk

And if they deserved 500k, why do you deserve so much of that?

You’re right, I shouldn’t speak in absolutes. The majority of the OT has no issue with what attorneys like the OP do with their ridiculous profits.
If a customer truly deserves a settlement of 500k, why is an attorney entitled to 25% or more of said settlement that is intended to indemnify their client?

No one has a problem with Gordon paying LSU athletes millions of dollars, and that money is coming from client settlements who are being paid by insurance companies.
The amount of stupidity when it comes to insurance, especially in LA, never ceases to amaze.
