Has your fanbase ever gotten riled up about something that didn't affect you?

I never understood why so many people were upset about Peyton Manning leading the band in "Rocky Top" when they finally beat Bama. I don't particularly like Peyton, and God knows I don't like Tennessee, but I just don't find that out of line or insulting. To me, you see worse taunting on every other play these days. But some Bama fans were livid.

Us Columbia fans were pretty up in arms about Kristen Saban getting married in BDS.

Full disclosure?

Mustain. I just didn't care about the vox populi

ETA: go one further on this topic. The letter from Teresa, allegations of bad cleats, etc etc... Yes it was bad to read but it never triggered me. Sure, I didn't like Nutt but it was not connected to Mustain. Nutt lost me when we lost to UNLV IN THE LV Bowl.

Truthfully? Casey Dick took more shite and more grief from our fans than any kid in our history, arguably. If there was a kid to rally behind, it was him, not Mustain and certainly not Beck.

You lost to Dubose, twice in the same season. I'd rather listen to Kanye rap Rocky Top wearing an orange leather pimp suit than have to admit my team lost to Mike Dubose twice in the same season.

I feel like we Bama fans, as a general rule, are too self-absorbed and narcissistic to give much of a frick about non-Bama things.

As the Plains Burn is the closest thing that comes to my mind.

Negative. I never once faced that idiot in any competition. I would have like to played poker against him though.

ATPB is the ultimate example of what the OP is asking.

For Auburn, UAB is the first thing that comes to mind.

When Peyton did that it was UT's first win over Bama in like 9 years or something. I didn't have a problem with it. Just added to the rivalry. What I hated most about Peyton and UT in general was they were flat out great. Joey Kent, Travis Henry, William Henderson, Jay Graham. They were loaded and were tired of us beating them.

Jesus, pick one. The mascot, some song, everything Ole Miss fans get pissy about.

Alabama - The Royal er, Roll Tide wedding

LSU - Alabama landing their former coach

Auburn - the success of your big brother

Arkansas - Berts weight

and on and on…

Most of the Rant is about making mountains out of molehills about what the other guy got that you did not get.

Weekly, if not daily, Cal will tweet out, speak at a function, interview on radio, etc and something he says will get blown way out of proportion and Big Blue Nation will get the torches and pitchforks out. I just don't GAF
