Has a position coach ever skipped the coordinator role to take over a major program as HC?

Robinson may not get serious consideration, and I’m not sure how significant the associate HC title is, but I do wonder.
Hard to put all the success of our DL on him. Helps when the talent is stacked that deep.

Look at what Pittman did when he took the Arkansas job. Might work out the same for Texas A&M.

Pretty sure Mark Hudspeth was a WR coach at Miss St. before UL hired him.

Recruiting and transfer portal mitigation move. He will be lucky to get a complimentary interview or even a thank you.

I've read that he's very well liked by the players and admin. He's also an excellent recruiter. I bet they try to keep him there.
