Clearly, this is not done anywhere else and once again A&M is on the forefront of the college football experience.

https://www.kbtx.com/content/sports/Premium-area-Tailgate-Towers-set-to-debut-at-Kyle-Field-491841101.html

quote:

Located on Level 7 in the northeast and northwest corners of the Kyle Field, Tailgate Towers offer shade, games and access to exclusive food and beverage options including beer and wine. The cost to enter these areas is $5 per person (regardless of age) and availability is limited. Entrance is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Edit:

I think they'll be in those white tents seen just below the back of the video board (ATM logo & "Kyle Fiel")

This sounds like a worse version of typical party decks and on-field cabanas

FAQs Can I see the Field from the Tailgate Tower? No, the field is not visible from this area but we have televisions that show the live game day feed so that you will not miss a moment of the action.

LSU announced doing something like this a couple weeks ago. 1200 person area with food and alcohol with the game showing on TV. Only difference is I think you have to have a game ticket to access that area.

If you want to play that game we started doing it at Olsen last year.

Why do I have to pay $5.00?

SEC rules state that alcohol may only be purchased in premium areas, therefore we must charge for guests to be able to enter the space.

Auburn started doing this, this year. An area that opens up before the game with food and booze. Its not open to general public though

So, it's tailgating on a concrete platform, where you can't setup a tent, tables, grill, etc... Instead, you pay money to sit there and then you can pay for alcohol without any of the normal tailgating activities?

Alabama has had this for over a decade. And Tuscaloosa is surrounded by people that would skip their moms funeral to go to church on Wednesday night

You should go to a game at Virginia. You're allowed to leave the stadium at halftime, go to your car to drink and eat, and then return. Because of low attendance, your car is not far away.
