See above...if he's Roll Tide Gary Danielson, why did he complain about the OG call on Stidham?

Don't be a moron.

Is that the reason you got skunked by 30 points on your home field?

Y’all didn’t score 30 points though. He held you 20 plus points below your average. Our defense is probably the best in the conference when at full strength. With no offense, it just killed our defense. Y’all hold every offensive snap and y’all had to inject that NT with some sort performance enhancer/stimulant/deer antler serum because normal humans can’t do what he did, and that’s the only time he played like a Superman... punk.

Bull butter. Danielson just doesn’t gloss over the calls that are wrong even if they benefit Bama.

Probably whined about it for the next 5 plays putting his ego and spotlight over the actual game.

I have always gotten the feeling that TV commentators will almost always defend the refs' decision if it is even a remotely close call.

That's always been true until the last couple of years, and my perception is that the door has been cracked open in that period to legit criticism.

The only exception I remember is during the NFL refs strike a few years ago. The color commentators were absolutely brutal to the scab refs, and it was clear to me then that the TV guys were showing some camaraderie with the regular refs. So that's the source of some reluctance to criticize officiating.

So we're down to the Commissioner on his network blaming the commentators on his network for his officials' ineptitude.

I guess the commentators will be threatened and face termination, yet the officials will continue to be backed by the commissioner.

The SEC is like CNN of network news channels.

Lost all respect for anything SEC related.

How could they not? Some of the shite has been so obvious that it would be an insult to the viewers to defend them.

With a crook North Carolina Tarheel as the ACC commish, that is pretty fricking hilarious.

I think he was referring to Danielson. I know he comes off as an Alabama homer. But Gary has gone after officials lately.

This topic has a funny way of making LSU fans and Barners strange bed fellows.

Sankey is the problem. He has lost institutional control and the fans faith in SEC office has gone with it. You dont have to just stop at thr refs.

Case in point: How many posters on here think that any single one of the questionable calls in the LSU/aTm game would have gone against Bama if they were In LSUs spot? Dont get caught up in whether you think they were right or wrong or this somehow means Bama is not good.
It is my belief that none of those calls would have gone against Bama and ahalf of them would not even have been brought up. The SEC officials are afraid of Saban.

Gary actually called holding on Hurts TD run against LSU in 2016 10-0 game. He even showed it on his telustrator. And guess what. The official looking right at it did not call it and hence another LSU grievance against SECRefs...

It used to be that commentators sided with refs on the air. BUt the last 6-8 years, it has become common to not only second guess the refs, but continue the calumny for a long long time during the broadcast. This needs to be clamped down on.

One example that lives on seven years after is the supposedly muffed punt, recovered by Notre Dame in the NC game against Alabama. It was ruled interference by the refs and was castigated throughout the broadcast. Yet the announcers didn't have a clue about the call or the rule. When a fair catch is signaled, the ball is not deemed to be missed until it hits the ground. You cannot plow the receiver just because that ball is bobbled into the air... which is what happened and what was ruled on the field. But they would not let it go in the booth and there are STILL people who believe the call favored Alabama.

Commentators should shut up and let refs ref.

F”@& Sankey. The replay officials are staring at the best televisions that money can buy and they still frick it up. The LSU game was the worst officiating I have ever seen and I watch way to much football. Not to mention all the blown calls in the state bama game.

So all 3 games LSU lost
