But Muh 49 players.

Not saying we were impressive but we weren’t playing Holy Christ Seminary or something.

Maybe so. I ignore most trolls and dumb opinions, but I hate misinformation/lies.

So I guess guys replacing opt outs are now considered starters? They’ve had 17 players opt out or transfer. At least 3 or 4 opt outs (some mid-season) were starters, including their best player Kylie Hill. That’s a lot of missing guys when you add on other starters as well as guys who play a lot.

LINK /

Will Rogers, their QB and true freshman, was making his second career start too.

And only 4 of them cracked the two deep at the beginning of the season. Hill (starter), Murphy (starter), Shavers (starter), and Pickering (2nd string)

All three of the guys you listed were starters, including their best player (Hill). So you have regular attrition then lose almost half your starting lineup plus depth guys during the season, and you’re trying to act like they weren’t down much? They had fewer than 50 scholarship players available. That’s significant regardless of how you try to spin it. How many of their starters Saturday were freshman and/or guys that haven’t been starters all season? How bout their two deep Saturday? I’d be willing to bet that number was well over 50%. State was terrible before they lost those guys, and now we’re supposed to be impressed that their whole lineup wasn’t walk-ons?

The point of my post was that the narrative was that Mississippi State’s team, especially their secondary, had been decimated by Covid and were starting a ton of walk-ons. As I pointed out above, this simply isn’t true.

None of them were walk-ons. Which is all I’m trying to say. Everyone has to deal with players being out. Georgia is starting five freshmen as well, but due to injuries. The majority of their starters were available and they didn’t have to start anyone outside the
two-deep nor play any walk-ons. Nothing to see here.

Only 3 MSU starters played against LSU but not Georgia.

Kylin Hill, Tyrell Shavers, Marcus Murphy

Leach said they were 50/50 before the Bama game. Rogers has been better. He won the job even before Costello was injured. Leach basically said another bad game from Costello would mean Rogers time.

This make you feel better about beating 2-4 state? With a bunch of starters out by 7? Weird.

False.

And even if he wasn’t beat out, it doesn’t matter because Rogers is clearly better.

Hefty amount of Gator fans in a UGA/State thread. Weird.

It’s 100% because of JT Daniels. Not ready to crown him as our savior or anything but the defense he lit up Saturday night is the same defense that has played well all year for Mississippi State
