Is Mizzou going to get expelled from the league for this?
Nope. Sanky forgot Mizzou was in the SEC just like y’all have been doing for years. Under the radar is good sometimes!

They won't care. They're clinging to LSU = Bad

They are also not thinking of the ramifications on basketball.

Are LSU unable or unwilling to comprehend the differences between minicamp and training camp?

quote:What the SEC said which time? Sankey contradicted himself over and over and said in court that anyone that went through the draft should be banned from college. Also, Sankey told the judge he did not know what a professional athlete is. Also the lawyers proved that even minicamp players sign "contracts". This was all brought out in court yesterday.
For some reason LSU fans just keep ignoring what the SEC said. It's why the Notre Dame kid can play according to the SEC rules but Wright and Harris can't. Rookie minicamp invites do not sign contracts with teams, both Harris and wright signed contracts.

By that definition, training camps are just try outs.
Actually...yes, and no. Minicamps are held shortly after the draft. First year drafted players can attend, and players that go undrafted, but sign contracts automatically attend.
Players that go undrafted and are not signed to an UDFA contract can petition to attend a minicamp of nay NFL team. If the team agrees to let them tryout, they then send them waiver paperwork waiving the team of responsibility in case of a severe injury, but that player is not under contract. However, if the team sees potential in one of those players, they can then offer them an UDFA contract and they would then qualify to go to preseason camp.

The SEC has spelled out in writing what the rule is.

LSU is not in the Big 10.

So did all the other players. Again, it doesn’t specify a contract of employment, just a contract.
No. They did not. What Hutson and others (I assume) signed were waivers in case of severe injury incurred in minicamp. It is a waiver to protect the team limiting liability.
quote:Agian, they sign only waivers, not contracts. They do, however receive a per diem.

Then why can't they verbally communicate what the rule that they spelled out is?

And said in court a different version of it. In other words, they do not know what they are doing and are throwing shite at the wall.

A waiver is a contract. Again, the SEC screed the pooch by not specifically stating the types of contracts that are against the rules. Therefore any type is against it.

Not defending Texas, that’s a bridge too far for me. But they have their own loophole.

There is a big difference legally between a waiver and a contract.
A contract is a binding agreement that outlines the rights and obligations of parties, while a waiver is a legal document that relinquishes a party's right to claim or pursue certain actions.

Minicamps are tryouts for undrafted and unsigned players. A three day non-contact try out. Teams can offer the players a contract after the conclusion of camp. Signing a contract would mean they are an NFL player. Most are not offered contracts. A player who goes through camp and is not offered a contract is not an NFL player. Just like college students who try out as walk ons but don’t make the team aren’t college players.

Not in court yesterday. The whole thing got picked apart and Sankey contradicted himself and could not answer basic questions about words and definitions they are trying to use to enforce their rules.

The receipt of per diem is where they cross into contract territory. Agreement on per diem for activities performed is a two way agreement, I.e a contract.
It’s all rolled into one document through the CBA, but it’s still there, and it’s still a contract.
