He certainly needs the help after last season

You need to go back two and a half decades for Texas to have as many championships as he has. Not sure you want him to get too much help.

That is very good. I think a lot of high school players are opting for college now that they can get paid. There should be some really good incoming freshmen this season, but it is still going to be tough for some of them to find playing time with everyone shoring their teams up in the portal. Oklahoma was a great example of freshmen coming into their own this season.

Had to laugh when someone on X asked Joe Doyle how LSU’s NIL compares to the Marlins’ payroll.

2022 was rough, then 2023 happened
2024 was a let down, then 2025 happened

Tennessee sent another pitcher to the MLB in the first round, beat out the MLB draft for 5 top 100 commits, all while retaining almost every single player in our top-ranked transfer portal class. We are happy

nobody knows what the’ve got until the games are played. throw a freakish 2026 Oklahoma-like run into the mix and now more than ever, winning a CWS is one part talent, one part coaching and two or three or four parts Baseball Gods.

Why do LSU people always hold up the loser sign?

quote:This. The Athletic had an article last week about the recruiting class of 2023. Maybe half of the top 20 prospects that made it to campus had careers that more or less fulfilled expectations, and the top college draft prospects in this years’s draft largely came from outside the top ranks of recruiting.

For the MLB Draft, it's a clear indicator that we overperformed this year in terms of talent:
1st Round:
SS Justin Lebron - #18 - Cincinnati Reds
6th Round:
P Tyler Fay - #169 - Pittsburgh Pirates
P Zane Adams - #171 - Baltimore Orioles
8th Round:
C Brady Neal - #242 - Cincinnati Reds
As for recruiting class, I feel I should note that we (apparently) have a 7' 2", 2 lb pitcher coming in:
Mikyle Graves
Our 2026 class did not have anyone from the top 100 on it; Perfect Game had it ranked #19 overall in the country but that still has us 13th in the SEC (an absurd amount of talent in the conference).
2027, on the other hand, is so far looking good. 6th overall, with 5 top 100 players. It's not LSU's level but I can see a good run with that and accumulated talent.

Georgia Tech kicked butt!

LSU will be loaded again!
Going to have to find playing time for all of them or they will be out the door next portal season!
Also seems like they may go over the 34 scholarship number?

Only 6 top 100 made it to campus?
BaseVOLS have 7 top 100 coming to campus plus a top ranked transfer class

Anyone know who was drafted out of Vandy's incoming freshmen class? They have 12 players ranked in the top 60 in the nation. It is an insane class if they can get them to campus.

They lost like 3 or 4 of their top guys who no one expected to make it through anyway. But from what I heard they retained a lot of good players and will have a good freshman crew to work with.

Yep. LSU will be loaded this year . I thought they would lose more to the draft for sure especially the big HS 1B kid.
Bama had two portal guys get drafted fairly high so not sure what we are going to do for pitching
