This is a mellinial thing. We used to honor commitments. Team first. Finishing a task. Putting MY needs aside for the better of a TEAM. TEAM. Remember that word?

Now it's all me myself and I. It's not right, I don't agree and folks this selfish will have it tough.
Yea, yea, I know. He'll make more than I will in 50 lifetimes. Yea, he'll also find himself alone which is worse than being broke.

It was never an issue until this generation of kids. But what do you expect from a bunch of me first little bastards that transfer at the drop of a hat. Jalen Hurts excluded of course.

Nope, wrong rhetoric bud. I know a lot of LSU fans that don’t agree with this. So to suggest that this is somehow a result of LSU accepting their place as you bama fans often say is ludicrous. I don’t care for Fournette anymore after what he pulled this crap, and the same goes for every other player. I get it’s a business decision, but if reducing risk is the concern then why play college football at all? At any point during the season something could happen...
Stop with this baseless rhetoric. It makes no sense at all.

People act like if you get hurt in the bowl game, your career is over.

You’ll get drafted a little lower on the off chance you get seriously hurt.

Fournette at least had an ankle injury that he dealt with since before the season and throughout the season. Greedy just doesn’t want to play and says he’s 100% healthy.

Hard to argue with this

I'm sure Fournette sympathizers will disagree with me, but I find this to be a terrible character trait. At the very least, stay with your teammates, work with them, practice with them , mentor the younger teammates, etc. If you don't want to risk injury during the game then just hang out on the sidelines.

But for god sake at least be a teammate for the rest of your fellow players.

I bet, within the next 2 seasons, there will be healthy guys who will leave their team in the CFP, AND there will be guys who leave halfway thru the season because of a mock draft saying they are 1st rd pick

For the life of me. Why in the hell cant the NFL and the NCAA have a special stipulation for these kids to go back to school for another year if they get hurt in the bowl game? Most of these kids didn’t yet graduate, so go rehab and if the injury will likely knock them out for the following season, they at least can still be on the scholarship and work towards their degree. Why is this so complicated? Play the damn bowl game. Haskins already said that he’s playing in the Rose Bowl and that’s not the CFP. It’s not the cheez-it bowl but it’s not for all the marbles either

I know many LSU fans who still carry the sense of duty and are disgusted at the recent behavior certain players on their team. Fournette's "injury" was never documented, but used as an excuse whenever he failed or when he quit the team. The fans that made excuses for him were, to use an AA word, "enabling." Same with Guice and Key.

But honestly, on Tr the prevalent attitude is that bowl games are meaningless, and players should be thanked for their service when they bail out. Players that don't are looked at as odd... and the attitude is that everyone on all teams should do it.

Those comments are so widespread as to form a virtual consensus on Tr and among LSU fans. Simply put, this attitude is not seen on most other team boards. Oh, there is an occasional "take the money and run" poster from some random team like Kentucky, but you do NOT see it much at Alabama, Georgia, the big boys. You DO see it all the time at LSU and getting worse. And you DO see LSU fans approving of it.

This is the worst of all worlds, and the rot is growing deeper, taking in ever larger percentage of the season. Who is to say that Greedy didn't mail-in the aTm game? The problems' nexus seems to be in Baton Rouge. You are welcome to call it rhetoric... I call it the truth.

Do away with playoffs, go back to bowls an polls.

Most of the bowl games are meaningless games owned by ESPN to fill programming during the slowest time of the year. Attendance doesn’t mater, it’s about getting just enough eyeballs on the TV to get better Ad revenues than World Series of Poker.

Unless it’s one of the big bowls, I don’t blame them. Football players are different. They have a very limited amount of time to make money as a player. An ACL in a bowl fame can be very costly and not worth the risk.

Dirty Douglas

I never mentioned once in my post about millennial. The frick are you on about? I’m trying to point out that the NFL should change their model, and maybe work with the NCAA to allow these kids to return to school if they happen to (slim chance) get hurt in the bowl game. I’ve taken many chances in my professional career. Have had six jobs in the last 20 years. Each time making more money and with better medical insurance and retirement savings plans. I’ve had the balls to change even without knowing the exact lay of the land and office culture. But it’s not all a bowl of cherries but I’m making it work. Thankfully I have a wife who has a nice career that she’s been at for 21 years. She’s miserable because of office politics and I encourage her to take a chance and go to another job. She always says it will be less money. I say that we are fine and the kid is in a good school and we don’t have a lot of debt. So don’t go spouting off on here about people not having the balls to take chances. Sometimes the smart play is to think long term. An education for these guys will far outlast their NFL career. The money is nice for 99% of us. I’d agree. My point is that the NFL should let them return to college and the school administration should be on board for it. The NBA and baseball lets the guys go back. WTF is the NFL doing?

Well let the actions of those who support these selfish actions speak for those who have them alone. I have no support for anyone who doesn’t have a sense of duty/honor. I’m tired of these excuses by the players..

Guice? Outside of Troy, he played in every game last year, including the bowl game. Troy was week 5. So now he was saving himself for the draft in week 5?

If a kid wants to play that is fine ,but I support players who don't want to take that risk.
