Firing your coach during the season is about as bad as it gets. LSU did it and they are regretting it. UF will do the same. Let the season play out. What if, UF regroups and wins out and their bowl game. Then 2018 starts looking very promising. Plus, people forget that Mac suspended ten players before the season started. Now, you have a new coach, new players, as the old ones will bail out (may not be a bad thing i.e. since 10 of them are already suspended), new coaching staff, new system, fans that have no patience will become even worse now. Come 2020, Florida will fire this new coach and start over again. Rinse and repeat.

Boom currently has a historically bad USCE team at 6-2 and playing pretty decent football.... So, was he a horrible coach at UF or is the UF job just that much more difficult to win at?

There was no option not to suspend those players.

You are forgetting one key thing.

Mac was brought here to improve the offense. Three straight years of an offense ranked in the 100s. He wanted out and we wanted him gone. That's why it worked out the way it did.

The next coaching hire is very important. That's for sure.

Do all UF fans know this?

There may have been a thread which highlighted McElwain's achievement as the first SEC coach to win 2 division titles in his firs 2 seasons as head coach in the conference.

You should probably address that with the poster that made the thread.

Do you think East titles are something important to brag about? Especially considering the state of the East over the last 7 years or more.

You mean the multiple UF fans (it is a long offseason).

Well, it should absolutely be the very first goal for each team in the East. Of course you brag about them. Do you brag about losing the division?

I agree that winning the East does not make you better than a mediocre team (i.e. UGA in 2011). But stopping there does not make you a bad team ( UGA in 2012).

If you don't brag about winning, then you probably would be the type of fan base who brags about avoiding buyouts. Or firing coaches in quick fashion. Or how great you were 10, 20, 30, or 40 years ago.

So East titles mean nothing, I would imagine if he was first in the East this year he would be employed.

Sure. Take it up with all of them. I disagree with anyone that brags about an East title especially lately.

Maybe we just have differing opinions on the East title thing. No big deal. I can handle someone thinking the East is some big accomplishment.

Feel free to brag away.

If we are a good team, then we are a good team.
If not, then no need to brag.

We will just have to wait and see how UGA finishes out the schedule.
Winning the Georgia-Florida game means nothing this year.

Don’t pretend UGA fans don’t do the same thing when we beat the crap out of them.

I agree with that.

I would also agree with the idea them dicking a coach out of a buyout on a ridiculous notion could hurt them some in luring a new coach

Too me they look great!

Meanwhile we have a big TV and a sweater vest.

The tv was 14 million. The sweater vest is 4.2 million per year to win 2 of 3 against Power 5.

2013: 9-2
2014: 5-4
2015: 3-6
2016: 5-5
2017: 5-2

Not at halftime. Danielson pointed it out as the camera swept the Gator side after the half -- empty. You guys suck as fans. Spurrier & Meyer turned y'all into spoiled brats.

I've sat in an empty Georgia section right after half time before. You guys are terrible fans, right?

Florida fans and a few other will say it was a brilliant move and shows how dedicated they are to winning.

Everyone else will say it looks bad and they will have a tough time getting the coach they want.

We won’t really know what most coaches think of this until we see who they end up with.

You Moo St fans are scared shitless we're gonna take your coach. Again. That's what happens when you're nothing more than a footnote in the SEC history books.
