absolutely they would...this is a dumb post..and you are dumb for posting it.

Mac should have known the death threat comment was a bad play...especially given the Gators woes...he did this to himself.

If UF was at fault, Mac would have a better buy-out result. He had his tail stuck between his legs and told his agent, get me out of this and get me at least a little something and I will move on.

Agree to disagree.

Is mullen going to UF? If you are right, his agent is in contract negotiations.

If I am right, Mullen is already off the table because he doesn't want the mess in Gainesville and UF doesn't want egg on their face when a coach chooses Starkville over the university of florida.

no

McElwain looks bad

anybody looking at this is asking, "WTF did he do?"

This. McElwain violated the terms of his contract by making a dumbass public statement. Then his team got blown out by Georgia. I actually admire the Florida administration for not fricking around and making a move now in order to give them more time to find a better coach by the end of the season. McElwain looks like an idiot is probably going to have a hard time finding another high profile coaching job.

Not sure if serious. Regardless, will still get the coach they want.

I disagree with you Delta. I dislike UF more than anyone, but the university did everything correct in this instance. Coach Mac did everything wrong. To me this ranks up there with Petrino leaving the Falcons, or Saban leaving the Dolphins. A real grease ball move, if you want out be honest about it. Don't make shite up and try and turn yourself into the victim.

smug prick hires smug prick. smug prick expects smug prick to change pricky attitude and not be smug prick. Former smug coach down the hall asks why are you being a smug prick. smug prick goes wtf i though this place was the capital of smug prick... but its more like a smug prick sh*tshow. smuggly stricklin steps in... "look no need to be a prick. gtfo out of gainsville for sharks sake"

You know what would have looked bad? Doing nothing about the death threat situation. Or slapping him on the wrist and leaving it at that.

Again, he either lied/exaggerated about them or didn’t report them to the appropriate people. The latter is worse but the former is pretty serious too.

Couple that with an already strenuous relationship with your administration, and our AD had an easy decision.

Man, first f.u. totally messed up PR-wise last year with the LSU hurricane-gate, everyone laughs and points at them, and then they go and do it again this year. They are putting together a nice montage of mismanagement.

Probably trying to set a new trend. Keep all these college coaches from demanding such high salaries until they can prove they are winners.

As far as I see there is only 6 coaches out there that are worth the Millions and 2 of them are retired. LOL

There is no reason that a coach with two division titles and a pretty good looking roster just rides off without the full buyout without something that would show cause for the termination.

He strikes me as lazy

To their own players & recruits. WLOCP & the Gator side of the stadium emptied at the half. Gator fans bailed on their team. No player support. Later, the players find out Mac is fired by Twitter. By Twitter!?

Gator fans & administration disrespected the players.

Actually, fired last 2 HCs that won 3 Division titles!

This has been addressed over and over I feel like but...

...one more time.

At places like UF, Bama, UG, TN, LSU and AU division titles are meaningless.

They don't hold any weight.

Besides, it's well documented that the East has been crap for a long while. Winning the East is so easy FL did it twice with MAC and once with Boom. Think about that.
