Yep. If they both get in it would make the playoffs a real joke.

The drastic rise in sea level would be catastrophic.

why would SMU still get in?

Yeah, I'm trying to figure that out.

The only way they could possibly justify that sets two controversial precedents:

1) Strength of the Schedule doesn't really matter:
0-2 against Top25, only playing 2 other teams in the SP+ Top 40 and racking up 9 wins against teams in SP+ 50s-70s
Is somehow better than, say, 3-1 vs Top 25 opponents and 5-3 in 8 games against SP+ Top 40

2) Conference Championship games are not considered at all aside from the Auto bids.

The committee can make reasonable arguments about which SEC team they put in. But to put SMU if they lose to Clemson makes the more controversial arguments above for anyone who's trying to glean any logic from it.

This.

Expect a lot of momentum crushing unreviewable calls in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Then a bunch of back and forth calls that cancel each other out so you will forget.

WWF Game for sure.

Alabama has more quality wins than Ole Miss and Ole Miss’ losses are worse. Ole Miss’ best win is shared with Alabama. I don’t know how anyone could argue in good faith that Ole Miss has a better season resume than Alabama. You may think Ole Miss is a better team by the eyes test but the factual accomplishments do not support it.

I agree Alabama has better resume than Ole Miss.

Ole Miss game control is unbelievable and we hardly lost the 3 games, but I don’t think that matters.

We had 9 double digit margin wins and lost all 3 games on last possession. Just not sure that factors in too much.

You really think a 2 loss ACC team is that deserving?

Simple solution.

SEC Championship Saturday

ABC Trifecta

11:00 am Tennessee vs South Carolina

3:00 pm Alabama vs. Ole Miss

7:00 pm Texas vs Georgia (Atlanta)

Winner of G1 and G2 get playoff bids.

Both teams in G3 get playoff bid, but the winner gets the #1 SEC seed.

How awesome would that be?

Why would Boise jump Tennessee for losing a game? I don't remember the committee saying they would reward a team and move them up 3 spots for losing a conference championship game.

Why would Tennessee agree to that? They're already in the playoffs. No way should they risk that just so a scrub 3 loss team doesn't get their feelings hurt.

I think Ole Miss is a great team but had a similar problem to Alabama where they played down to their opponent several times. It is such a maddening type of team to be rooting for, eh? At least with the playoff teams like this aren't dead in the water. You gotta feel like if they make the bracket and play to their ability then they can go far...

The teams that are in will have to play who they have to play. I'm not going to cry if we end up with a tough draw.

But if the 3 SEC 9-3 teams are left out and Miami or SMU is put in... it makes the path for those in the playoff easier.

The SEC 3-loss teams have a shot at winning a national title. SMU and Miami (along with Clemson, the Big 12 champ, the G5 champ and Indiana) are not good enough to do so. Right now I don't think PSU is good enough either but I'm not 100%.

This isn't true. A 21 points loss to OU is worse than a 3 point loss to Kentucky. Then there's that loss to Vandy.

OM blew out Georgia and USC. If you didn't watch the games and just looked at the W's and L's I can see how you'd think Bama's resume was better.

I really don’t give a shite if you make it to the playoffs, some team will just embarrass you there anyway and it will be quite comical for LSU fans actually lol.

This is quibbling about things that aren't provable, but Kentucky went 1-8 against Power 4 teams. They lost those 8 games by an average of 16 points. They lost 4 of those 8 games by 3 scores or more. Their other 3 wins were against Ohio U, 1-11 Southern Miss and 1-11 FCS Murray State. They were an awful football team. Their only Power 4 win was against Ole Miss......in Oxford.

Losing at home to that Kentucky team is every bit as bad as losing 24-3 on the road to Oklahoma.

Oklahoma had some solid wins this year.

Now do Vandy.

At the end of the day OM and Bama were 3-1 against common opponents and OM margin of victory was +51. Bama's was +17.
