People making a big deal about how he was already redshirted, but aren't medical redshirts typically applied for retroactively? Feels like this is the normal process for applying for a medical redshirt.

I don't think it's as cut and dry. I hate the idea of him being committed to another team and coaching us in the playoffs, but let's think about it.

There's no clear cut dominant team in this playoff. Does Kiffin give us the best chance to win? If you can win a title, don't you take that shot? These chances don't come around very often. It fricking sucks, but would you trade a title for the mess it would cause?
