Very bad career choice for Ewers. He could have ridden off to the NFL combine as a very successful Big 12 QB. The league of no defenses.

He chooses to play his final season in the gauntlet of the SEC, where defense is coveted.

It is gonna get ugly for Texas next year with Manning sitting the bench and fans crying to see him.

Two very good QBs but I wouldn't want to be in that potential grenade of a situation. Ewers will not help his draft stock by playing in the SEC.

Mark my words...it is coming to Austin this Fall. Get the popcorn as Aggieland is finally not a premier movie distination....at least not for another 2 years...lol!!

Ewers beat the SEC champion in their house a few months back.

Blah, blah, blah.....everyone said this about Texas and Ewers before our 2023 trip to Alabama.

Of course the SEC will be more difficult than the Big 12. Still, no matter what else happens, Ewers will humiliate the aggys in College Station. You are about to get elkoed.

Where was Ewers going to go? Late round in the NFL?

He needs to stay one more year and at least try to stay healthy and play for an entire season…something he has yet to do going back to his high school days.

One game against an SEC opponent, especially 1st major game of season is one thing.

Playing an entire SEC schedule is another.

Thats my point.

Not saying Ewers isnt a solid QB. Just saying his play in SEC isnt likely to show better statistical performance. Texas is a good team and should be solid in the SEC this coming year. But what it isnt....is the Big 12.

Especially if he has some bad games and the fan base starts demanding Manning.

He gets credit for betting on himself. But I think he hurts his draft stock. He probably would have gone 3rd round in NFL draft this year, just due to all the hype around him from HS days even. Think he has far more to lose than gain.

Aggy offering insight on a team that just went to playoff while not paying 77mill to expel coach.

Texas destroyed the #3 SEC defense this year in an away game against the eventual SEC champion.

Poor aggy. Does not know how football works.

He's probably the 7th or 8th best qb prospect this cycle. Next cycle he's top 3 for sure. Him, JJ, and Beck....?

Playing one more year was clearly the right call.

Only a poor miserable bitch known as Aggy would spin Texas coming into the SEC with a veteran QB as a negative.

Ewers staying is PERFECT for UT & for Arch Manning

Manning still needs the work, and he'll get plenty of game time reps this year behind Ewers

Ewers also has things to prove before the NFL

poor aggy

Texas fans are known as rabid weasels. They will turn on Ewers in a heartbeat if he has a single bad game. Start screaming for Manning. There is no other like bitchy fair weather fan base than Texas. Bullying and obnoxious when they are winning…college football’s biggest whiney bitches when they don’t. They turn on their own team, players, and coaches quicker that anyone else. That’s a historical fact. Tune into Burnt Orange Nation sometime…they bitch when they win.

It’s not 2008

There’s about three defenses worth a shite on average in the league

Clueless aggy as always, what "SEC gauntlet" are you talking about?

Texas SEC shedule 2024:
vs Miss State
vs Georgia
@ Vanderbilt
vs Florida
@ Arkansas
vs Kentucky
@ aggy

Georgia is the only team on this list that "covets" defense.

aggy should be worried about getting rid of their laughing stock, gay cheerleaders instead of worrying about Texas. But I guess, aggy can't help it - all they do is obsess over everything Texas.
