$4M? Doubtful. Very few schools with that much NIL left available this time of year. Very few have $2M left. Certainly not smaller schools.
Wonder how much this will cost him in potential draft status if he ends up playing for a non-contending school with a mediocre record.

I give it two years. He'll get them to 8-3 and #25 aka the top of Mullen Mountain

I knew this exact type of thing would happen sooner or later when this whole NIL & Collective thing began. Overzealous fathers or uncles, or other family member high-jacking a kids career and destroying it with greed.

But it's okay for the NCAA and institutions to profit at will off the 18-22 year old for decades?
The adults on all sides are exploiting these young men. Blame all sides.
If Carson Beck can get $4M, former Tulane QB get $4M, why not try too. The others didn't reach the 2024 playoff. One didn't finish the season. Bad timing and numbskulls running the operation is the only sin.

A guy like this is poison for any program, college or NFL.

He's basically like kaepernick, the toxicity isn't worth the level of talent you'd be getting. Hopefully every team refuses to take him just like the nfl teams did with kaepernick.

Sources caution that Iamaleava is talented enough that some market will form. He led the SEC's ninth-best scoring offense in conference play and finished ninth in QBR (70.5) last season. There will be a place for a solid SEC starter with a five-star pedigree somewhere in the sport.
So middle of the pack?
He threw 19 TDS and 5 picks
Overall.
In SEC play alone he threw 9 TDs—six of those came against Mississippi State and Vandy. He threw up Bagels against UGA, FL, and Arkansas.
He’s Brandon Harris.

The problem with a parent being your agent is that a parent will always think the kid is better than they are.
Most of us on the outside looking in are using logic here. He almost certainly isn't using logic when it comes to his son.
Had Nico been advised to keep his head down and work hard, he probably worst case ends up as a backup in the NFL who plays a long time. Thats a decent living. Guys with arm talent who can move like he can are able to last a long time in the NFL just as backups. If he improved, he could still have been drafted pretty high as a potential starter.
Now all of that may be shot to try to milk a big payday now that he and his family will inevitably blow through.

This is probably why Nico wanted $4M for this season.
They don't really say if the $3.7M is for the remaining (3) years of eligibility or for the 2025 season. This only makes sense if it is a 3 year deal.

I don't see him as any better than Taylen Green.

Maybe he can get an incentive-based deal.
Conference champion = a million plus
Top tier bowl game = another half to a full million
Undefeated season = a million and a half or two million
Making the playoff = half a million
Winning a playoff game = half a million
Winning it all = the full Monty

OOF....9th best? Is that good? Out of 16 just outside the top half?

I have no confirmation for this ... and being a former journalist I like to track down confirmation for things although I will offer opinions which I label as such ... but there's social media conversation that the family may already have blown through the cash and that might be the reason all this went down like it did.
Again, we're not talking about a dynamic where Nico and his dad and mom and siblings lead separate existences, there are eight kids in the family, I saw a family portrait of them that had 13 people in it although it didn't say if they all lived in one household but it would not surprise me an iota if they did, with dad ruling the roost as the absolute dictator even when the kids get to be 45 because that's the Samoan culture and way of life. And I know that doesn't compute through the average set of American eyes.

Ego has clearly blinded anyone in Nico's camp from being able to accurately value his worth and leverage.
And they're going to keep doubling down since ego is involved.
This will end very ugly for them.

Let's stop lying to ourselves and acting like these kids were paying for their college, health care, books, lodging, meals AND playing football "for free". They have been getting EXPONENTIALLY more than the average student who actually goes to class and actually does the work, rather than having tutors do it for them, and then the player gets handed a degree as if he's "earned it," like the regular student. The value of health care, schooling, meals, and lodging is well into the six figures, and most of the time into the millions in monetary value. "Exploited" is a little dramatic...

I called his dad and his dad's buddy who used to work for Florida, who are driving the car here, the Two Stooges yesterday, and 24 hours haven't changed my opinion.
Stephen A. Smith said yesterday that he thinks nobody will sign Nico, that his career is over. If that's the case, I hope Nico says %^*% the Samoan culture and gets in his dad's face for ruining his career and his life.
