I agree....must be tough getting beat up the final game every season. Mizzou needs a real game. I would rather see Mizzou play kansas or Illinois to end the season
MU vs KU at Arrowhead is a good closer. The schools also need to quit the politically correct BS and call it The Border War game and not some crap like Birder Rivalry game. Beyond KU, I think playing the Sooners to close out would be a better game than playing Illinois.

Yep, OU closes out with Okie Light, Mizzou closes out with Kansas, and LSU-Arkansas closes out the season. LSU-Tulane could as well, but Tulane usually isn’t very good. Arkansas only other rivals are from the old SWC. Maybe they could close it out with SMU or something like that.

If the Arkansas and LSU brass would have raised hell about it then the game would have never been moved.

Mizzou is 11 and 4 all time against Arkansas, so, yeah, it is a buzzkill.
The funny thing is that I just don't care. Y'all are just so boring. It's not fun to win and it's not maddening to lose. It's just meh either way.

This is totally what a fan of a program that has never won at Faurot nor anywhere in the state of Missouri in 80 years would say.

Then forfeit the game and keep the players safe.

Arkansas is a team without a natural rival.
Oklahoma and Arkansas is a rivalry that would heat up pretty quickly if the league would give it a chance.
The dynamic between the states is pretty interesting. Each state looks down at the other one. NW Arkansas and Ft. Smith are the the main service areas for the people who live in far eastern Oklahoma... and the Arkansans view them with disdain because they are a sad lot.
Meanwhile, Tulsa and OKC people pretty much look down their noses at Arkies for being small time... although begrudgingly, Tulsa is realizing that NW Arkansas is no longer its little satellite community and wields some real clout as a metro area.
And it would be an easy Thanksgiving weekend trip for both fan bases.
Hell, let Missouri play LSU. Yankee Tigers vs. Confederate Tigers.

I actually agree with this. You can feel it. It’s a gas filled room waiting for a match.
Plus both states have a chip on their shoulder constantly trying to get respect and fight through stereotypes. Adds fuel to the fire.
And the two campuses are closet to one another in SEC. Easy drive.
Our mutual hatred and history with Texas also provides a common ground to turn on one another. Starting with a shared hate is a solid basis for mutual hate to one another developing as we try to one up each other.

Then again, LSU and Oklahoma may hit it off. Never say never.
I think LSU - Oklahoma will end up being a great rivalry

Oh look, another Hog thread about not caring about Missouri.

Everyone can talk about which matchups they would prefer in a vacuum, but, in the real world, you have to factor in the schedule. Some of these games are not going to be played every year.
If we go with the 8 game schedule (1 permanent and 7 rotating) there may be a group of four teams that end up rotating final week opponents (it would be more but for the teams that play out of conference that weekend).
If we go with the 9 game schedule (3 permanent and 6 rotating), there are ways to work it out so that we don't end up with a group of rotating teams on the final weekend, but Arkansas playing LSU that weekend won't be one of these scenarios unless somehow they end up on each other's lists of permanent opponents, and that is far from a sure thing (some would say it is highly unlikely).

By the time the series gets heated, the SEC will expand and they will do away with the series in favor of the new members.

Oklahoma makes a lot more since then Missouri. Their state is total trash, Tulsa is a shite hole and the worst part of it all is drivers from Oklahoma and the slowest, worst pieces of shite ever to hit the road. I could get excited about playing them at the end of the year.

Sam has done what he was hired to do, pull the program out of the gutter of 1 sec win in 3 seasons to being bowl eligible 4 of his 5 seasons.
Of course some fans hate him now but that’s expected.
How do you feel about drink underachieving with a weak schedule? Again. Same amount of championships as Sam looking at a minor bowl with no ranked wins. Pretty pedestrian for a loudmouth smartass. His one crowning achievement is getting burden and he’s gone after this year and you’ll be calling for drink’s head again next year. Rinse repeat.

Again? WTF are you talking about? He beat Ohio State in Cotton Bowl last year and can win 10 more again this year.
You'd be sucking Sam's micropeen if he won 10 games.

i like the automatic win at the end of every season, but i can understand if hawg fans would like a fresh start against a team that isn’t their daddy

I dont know about everyone else im just saying we need to change the last game to make sense because right now our season peaks in the middle and the end of the year is somewhat of a let down. And that is not meant to be offensive irs just facts we have no history and it still feels like a forced rivalry
i get it it. nobody wants to start the season knowing the last game will be a big fat L
