Don't understand the current LSU/Kiffin kerfuffle at all

I understand the controversy over the Class of '22 and the extra year of eligibility and the rules regarding professionalism, but what I don't understand is this. Why is LSU being singled out with lawsuits and threats of sanctions and expulsion by the conference?
I mean, several SEC schools (Mizzou, A & M, Kentucky, Ole Miss) have players on their roster against the old professionalism rules. Kentucky has Alex Afari, who had to sit out week one to make sure he clears waivers from the Packers. A couple of years ago, Alabama played a basketball center who had actually logged minutes in an NBA game. The SEC has allowed all of this, but when Kentucky wanted to bring Mark Mitchell on to their roster, it seems like people in the SEC offices lost their minds.
All of this will eventually be resolved, but it will be in the courts or the Halls of Congress. Since we are dealing with universities, whose primary purpose is supposed to be the well-being and growth of the students, the decision will ultimately likely come down to protecting the rights of the players to earn money, freely move around to where they can maximize their potential earnings, and in favor of the players in general. The courts will take a dim view of all of the inconsistent enforcement of the rules by the SEC and NCAA.

Agreed
SEC is imploding in my opinion they are definitely moving to expel LSU

What you are watching are the first volleys in the eventual destruction of the SEC.

Yeah! Just another example of utter disregard for anything remotely resembling tradition. Just what College athletics needs....just burn it all down because misery is far more enjoyable than joy.

The standard was ALWAYS entering the draft, and there are multiple players on multiple teams that did that.
Signing a contract or playing in a game was never the delineation.

I was pointing out BigBlueTITTIES was wrong.
That center was ruled ineligible shortly after Sankey wrote an affidavit that Bediako should not be allowed to compete, so I dont know what kind of supporting precedent you think LSU has in its pocket.

A question many LSU fans have been asking, but you’re bringing this to the wrong place.
Even though no poster here can articulate what LSU has done wrong that isn’t a rumor or overreach by the SEC, they are absolutely sure that LSU did something wrong. Again, they can’t say what it is with any proof, but it’s something.
So they must be punished.

But being cut early from training camp makes you a pro? You really are a stupid little pussy

The conferences/ncaa need to stop the idea of players leaving the NFL for college football at all costs. We all hate nil and the transfer portal, but those are nothing compared to the damage NFL players will do to the sport. Sure it was just training camps/preseason rosters this time, but once that door is open we're never going back. If we dont draw a line in the sand now, we will have NFL washouts who've played multiple years in the NFL returning to college football. 5 for 5 is just as arbitrary as any other ncaa rule thats been defeated in court and will also be overturned once someone challenges it.
There needs to be a hard cutoff that once you receive money from the NFL, your college eligibility is permanently gone. Otherwise the sport will turn into teams full of former NFL players who play college football for ten plus years and we never have room for new high school recruits.
The conferences are right to fight this so hard, the ncaa wont be able to. The teams like LSU that want to allow NFL players back will have to split off from the ncaa and form a new league.

Contracts are contracts. It's not my fault he sucked so much his professional tenure lasted a few weeks.

This is why LSU is about to be crippled. There are people at LSU who are stil advocating destroying the SEC in order to get their way.
It is like a 17 year old saying they are going to murder their parents because they told them they can’t use the car this weekend.

No, no, no. Sankey never did anything about that. Come on man, don't destroy the Tiger Rant narrative.

But the SEC isn't actually fighting it. This is simply Sankey leading a witchunt against Kiffin and LSU.

LSU isn’t the first school to recruit, sign, roster nor play a former professional athlete.
So, again, why are they the only one being threatened?

Texas, South Carolina, Missouri, etc., all have rostered players who entered the draft, yet went undrafted.
You, and others, have shifted the argument from “entering the draft” to “signing a contract”, which was never the delineating mark.
This isn’t a “LSU is being selectively targeted” post. I am simply pointing out that you guys can’t even answer who or what is a “professional” and are taking advantage of a clearly broken situation as well.
Amateur sports died years ago. Accept it.

Contracts are legal language little bro.
One of these days LSU will preach to their kids all decisions have consequences, but Lane Kiffin is too prepubescent to understand that himself.

LSU basketball commit RJ Luis played in three NBA games.
A Louisiana judge issued an injunction ruling him eligible to play.
This is more about LSU using the Louisiana court system to wage a legal war against the SEC than it is the actual players.
Right or wrong, and they are probably right, the SEC believes Landry and LSU are behind this and are ensuring these judges rule in LSU’s favor.
The SEC feels like LSU and Landry (at this point they seem to be one in the same) have weaponized the Louisiana justice system to fight the SEC. Louisiana AG Murrill’s statement yesterday support this notion. That goes way beyond a handful of players.
