There needs to be a hard cutoff that once you receive money from the NFL, your college eligibility is permanently gone
Hate to break it yiu, but several of these type of players are currently on sec rosters. LSU isn’t one of them.
You go to mini camps, that means you went though the draft process, you got paid by NFL teams for meals flights and per diems for your work. You practiced against current NFL players trying to make a team and got professional training and coaching.
So which is it? SEC and Sankeys hypocrisy knows no bounds….
Only guys that should be allowed to come back are the ones that went work at Lowe’s after finishing college and didn’t get drafted. If you let the ones that went to mini camp play, the ones that went to training camp should play. Z. Harris is really getting fricked. He didn’t play a snap.

The SEC feels like LSU and Landry (at this point they seem to be one in the same) have weaponized the Louisiana justice system to fight the SEC.
Don’t you think they should try to prove their “feelings” before expelling a member?
This has all happened in a week and a half.
The LA justice system didn’t rule any differently than courts across America have ruled.

college actually received any NFL money like the LSU guys did
Guys that went to mini camp got nfl money. They get paid for trying out. Z. Harris didn’t get paid by the saints, and didn’t practice one snap. He got a per diem for gas. So why does he get screwed over? Explain the difference.

So Texas, Missouri, South Carolina, Kentucky and Arkansas are up for expulsion as well then? These teams actually have players who “received money” from the NFL on their rosters.
What about Hutson? Received perdiem checks from Dallas and Cleveland. Yet is in the Texas roster and Texas does is not being expelled from the SEC.
Why won't you address these questions that have been asked? You just start speaking jibberish. Players actually rostered on teams received money from NFL teams for camp tryouts so why aren't they being punished by the SEC?

Kentucky fans know the difference between regulation NBA games and G League. Give me a break. What else are you wrong about?
G League players go to camp and go back and forth to the NBA all the time. Not all of them, but a lot of them do on 2 way contracts. You’re saying the G League isn’t the NBA? Get out of here with that nonsense.
It’s completely similar to a guy who goes to NFL training camp, is in some preseason games, records no stats, gets cut, doesn’t make the 53 man roster. They bring in 90 guys for camp and only 53 make it. We aren’t even talking about Practice Squad players.
It’s completely similar to G League. More so.

From the nfl? So he's ineligible for college football.
So the players currently on SEC rosters that the SEC doesn’t care about that also got checks from NFL teams are also ineligible right? They got per diem checks for their ‘professional’ work.
But that’s not what’s happening.

Yup answer the question….

100% agree, and it’s why Sankey is the biggest pos hypocrite. Either they sll play if they weren’t on a 53 roster, or if they went into the draft, or attended a mini camp, they are done. It’s complete BS. And it needs to be called out in the media.

It’s also why they’re losing lawsuits left and right. Same reason the NCAA kept losing them.
Selective enforcement was one of the reasons the NCAA has been relieved of basically all of its oversight privileges.
Yet here we are, cheering on the SEC for trying to grab power after showing they are no better at governing their conference than the NCAA was at governing their body.

Don't understand the current LSU/Kiffin kerfuffle at all
This has nothing to do with LSU/Kiffin trying to get the 2 players on their roster. It has to do with the fact that Kiffin/LSU "encouraged" those players to sue LSU's own conference if/when the other 15 member institutions voted to not allow them (which they did) at a time when the conference is trying to gain some semblance of control to try an govern itself since the NCAA has proven ineffective to do so.
So to sum it up, "encouraging" lawsuits against your own conference + bad timing = pissed off conference members.

quote:this is stupid. The 5 for five rule applies to ONE year, this year. After this very limited number of players that probably remain in school for another year clears the window if five years, we are all back to normal.
but those are nothing compared to the damage NFL players will do to the sport. Sure it was just training camps/preseason rosters this time, but once that door is open we're never going back.
The fact that NCAA and their members seem to have been caught flat footed is the problem.

Did Kiffin and LSU also encourage them to sue LSU?
I bet you didn’t know LSU was enjoined in the suit alongside the SEC.

Do you really think that Kiffin/LSU cared if LSU was enjoined when the result of losing the lawsuit opened the door for them to roster the players?

You fricking retards have officially taken the position that LSU and Kiffin encouraged a lawsuit against themselves.
I can’t do this anymore. You people are writing fan fiction and passing it off as factZ

What's not to get. The SEC doesn't want it's members to invite lawsuits against it.

We don't know what Lane said to those players when he recruited them. But based on Lane's past history, I very seriously doubt that he just "advised them of their options."

It's not what I would rather schools do or not do. It's that I'm sure that the SEC would rather schools not open the conference up to lawsuits.

Completely agree.
Hopefully very soon the courts can figure out a way to penalize sec for failure to uphold standards across the board equally and allow sec power to enforce standards.
They need to probably rewrite everything
