The SEC doing well pays dividends down the road. Conference prestige is huge in basketball and means more invites in the future

I am. It would be nice to start getting seeding priority.

Pulling for the SEC teams today. Liberty makes me nervous. I watched their conference championship game and they had the look of a 12 seed that could make it to the second weekend.

SEC is seeded pretty well this season. Even got a couple questionable teams in the tournament.

ehhhhhh

I mean if UGA is a bubble team next year, I doubt the committee is gonna say "remember last year when 8 seed ole miss lost to 9 seed oklahoma? Let's leave em out"

And just to clarify, I have all 3 of those teams winning today so will pull for them (I have AU and UT going pretty far actually, in addition to UK). I just think the whole "the team I actually like and cheer for is in the SEC so I want all of our rivals and other SEC teams to do well" mindset is silly. I mean do braves fans pull for the rest of the NL East when playing other divisons? Are there "I pull for the NFC over AFC!" people? East vs West folks for NBA?

Maybe I'm old school but I care about the team I pull for and nobody else.

Generally, yes I will pull for the SEC. I don't know why but the same logic doesn't work for professional teams. I am a huge Cubs fan so I cheer against all the other teams in its division but for basketball I would like to see the teams successful as a conference. I would be ecstatic if the SEC could have 3 #1 seeds some day like the ACC has this year. It just gives us more respect as a conference and helps each school that much more - gives us better TV deals, thus more money for each school, etc....

Are you the kind of guy who doesnt understand conference prestiege, tournament seeding, and how much more important that is in college basketball?

Or are you the "football is the only sport" guy.

I wish I could be confident, but this MSU team and tournament feels exactly like 2003 vs Butler.

Smaller team, #12 seed, gets hotter than fish grease and frustrates State into a sloppy performance.

I like State vs VaTech if we can get through tonight
