A horrifying schedule. It looks like wins will be few and far between. Ironically, Texas in the Red River Shootout may be your best chance, coming after a bye week advantage.

If Texas gets the Win at Knoxville, that will set up OU to have to play AP #1 and #2 in back to back games.

OUs most important defensive player is out right now...
New Mexico had guys running wide open in the secondary and they kept dropping passes or getting over thrown. They struggled containing a fast QB on some of the plays like when they gave up a 3rd and 21 scramble.
We are trying to convince ourselves that we have an "elite" defense because that is the only hopium we have left.... but I think personnel wise they are maybe just a little bit above average for the SEC... they only look elite when Brent guesses right with his calls.
I hope I'm wrong... but I'm afraid Georgia offense is going to be able to get the best of them...and of course OU's offense won't be able to help the defense much... which will compound the issue.

Said it before the season started it comes down to Mateer. If he starts playing better they'll win games. If he keeps playing like he has so far they're fricked.

Seems you don't know shite about Oklahoma football, and I recall the same subject was discussed around this time last year. Then OU beat Bama twice.
Nothing surprises me anymore, but OU's offense appears in worse shape now than it was at this point in '25.

OU had a functional offense at least and was undefeated. Completely different situation.

Lazy Sunday and not going into each opponent but until Mateer goes to an optometrist wins are doubtful against league.

OU and Texas just aren't built for the week in week out brutal sec schedule.
