Mateer may not remind anyone of Baker Mayfield, but the OC has done nothing with that offensive scheme. It could hit the wall in Athens. Maybe a good thing if it affects change.

remember a Bama posting this after OU lost to ole miss last year lol and we didn’t lose till the playoffs … it’s never as bad as it seems and never as good as it seems … atleast that’s what I am going with . For the idiot who said OU and Texas aren’t good enough to win in the sec … I think that was put to rest last year doofus .

But we lack the most important aspect on the offensive side of the ball. Decent qb play. Do you think Mateer could start anywhere else in the conference besides maybe Arkansas.

The conference has seen Mateer and the OC for a full season now. The OC needs to show he can alter and adjust his offense to take the heat off of Mateer, and Mateer needs to perform better than he has shown this year.
OU offensive line struggling with injuries damn sure doesn't help. Either of those two starters returning soon?

Still butt hurt on missing out on nearly 2 decades of Big12 Championships aren't ya... So sorry it never worked out for UTerus in the Big12. Now that you're in the SEC, it's probably gonna be much of the same for you all, just not Oklahoma every year

Simply put: the OC is not ready to coach at this level. And his 'success' in his 2 years at WSU was due in large part to inheriting Cam Ward, who was a hot commodity before following his HC to WSU.
This wasn't just a 'bad hire', it was a dumb & lazy hire.
