Well I'll always defer to a homer's roster assessments when they seem plausible. Seems to jive with what we saw on the field...especially on the DL where they started getting pushed around more by Bama's OL over the last half decade.

All this is speculation but one thing is a fact. Saban was a horrible NFL coach. shite the bed when he got to the big leagues.

Going just below or above .500 is just about the median tenure of any NFL hire though. It may be a little bit better than the average new hire to be honest but I don't have the metrics on hand. He didn't completely bomb despite what people try to say. He was not successful either. He would've 100% been able to get another NFL opportunity one day if he wanted it. His performance was solidly in the tier that gets a guy a retread opportunity.

This seems like an obvious troll thread but I just want to say any coach running a 4-3 defense against spread opponents is asking to get fricking murdered. The 4-3 is what the spread was built for

Make fun of him all you want , but he went 15-0 and beat Clemson’s arse in 2019. Includes beating CNS, Tua, 4 first round receivers and a first round RB in Tuscaloosa. He ain’t as dumb as you think , but keep under estimating him and making fun.

It's really not a troll thread so to speak. I really think he is more comfortable and understands the 4-3 better and that's what he wants to run and why.

You Bama fans continuously seem to fall into this trap. Why some of you feel the need to argue why Nick Saban is better than Ed Orgeron I have no idea LOL. But it does make the board entertaining so carry-on.

The 4-3 is tremendous. Better looking defense than at any other point. We just need to simplify. Put it on me.

Not necessarily. 4-3 is just a scheme. The kind of athletes you put in that scheme is what matters and there's room for creativity.

Your subject suggests that he’s too dumb to understand 3-4, which is obviously not the case since he ran a 3-4 in 2017 thru 2019 when Aranda was here. He’s also been a defensive assistant since the 1980’s. I’m not going back and researching all the schemes he has coached in, but I’m willing to bet he has experience in 3-4.
