No. The first Wednesday in February has lost all it's meaning. It's kind of a bummer.

Because someone decided there should be like two other signing days before that now

The football portal drives me insane, but in basketball it's almost a requirement now because if they're good they'll play one season, and if they're not, they're going somewhere else to start instead of sitting on the bench and developing.

I agree and I don't know how we kept our freshmen and some sophomores from leaving as they didn't get a lot of playing time. We only had one player transfer. Somebody is going to get a really good center, and a great person in Micah Handlogten.

That and NIL has killed HS recruiting. Who would pay top money for unproven high school kids when they could choose from pick from guys who've had a couple years to prove themselves? I was wondering why Kirby didn't hit the portal very hard until I realized he was paying money to keep the proven guys he recruited a couple years ago.

No. Portal seems way more important now. If you get a 5 star out of high school you know you'll be overpaying and they may just move on after a year and not play.

I lost interest long ago when people started decommitting all the time. The modern BS is just not even remotely worth the time.

NO.

But I’m older now so it seems less important in the grand scheme of things

Not at all. I used to watch the signing day stuff but I couldn’t tell you one player from the other until November, right before they leave and another crop comes in

Only because we have a new coach. I hate this new pro league with college named on the front

Much less. About once/month I check team rankings. 4*+ commitments mean virtually nothing until signing day.

Because Kirby is an elite recruiter out of High School. So no need to worry. Georgia just reloads now it seems.

Nope. It’s pointless. NIL and portal ruined a good sport.

He is, but the game has changed. It's not about relationships anymore.

Not anymore. They're getting outspent by Miami and the Texas schools.

I do not follow recruiting like I used to. As others have posted, NIL and transfer portal have made me less interested in the college game.

The transfer portal has made following HS recruiting pointless.

Amazed the State of Texas is not utterly dominating now..they have insane money. If you Google CFB programs that makes the most cash it is
1. Texas 2. Texas A&M. The other 3 are Michigan, LSU, and Ohio State.

Thought Georgia would be there honestly surprised they are not.

Lane Kiffin had to hit the portal bigtime. So again, I wonder, is that a one time thing, or do we have to do that every season?
