Arkansas-Tennessee and Auburn-Florida two really good series that ended when the SEC switched to one permanent cross-division opponent. Also LSU-Kentucky wasn't a rivalry but it produced a number of memorable games.

The team didn't care once Nutt left for Ole Miss. No way they would lose to Missouri, playing like they did against LSU in 07.

Nutt's teams always took games off each year he was here.

I remember when Arkansas LSU was a good game every year from the mid-2000s through the Petrino years. Felt like a rivalry then

They shouldn't have come here in the first place. They have a long standing rivalry with Kansas and should go back to it.

I lived in Fayetteville for four years. Every piggy fan I knew and their talk radio host Bo was all LSU all the time. They didn’t care about any other game that I was offered 10-20 free tickets a game but come the LSU game I had to pay around 200 for it. They would revolve their season around LSU, how they were doing, could the small brother beat the big brother. Ole Miss was nothing close with Nutt and ole miss and then once he left they lost complete interest in the ole miss game.

That's odd. Because I lived there for 25 years and for the most part it was the complete opposite of what you just stated. Being an LSU fan I'll be generous and say you were a bit hypersensitive to any mention of LSU by the media.

From what I remember... it was Texas in football, than Kentucky in basketball (a rivalry that greatly declined after Nolan was fired), followed by Ole Miss quite a ways behind, with LSU and the Vols (before they dropped that series) coming in behind the Reblacksharks. If Tulsa was better at football that would probably bump everyone after Kentucky down a spot because we play them so often but its hard to get fired up about a team you haven't lost to since the 70s.

I don't know why that would upset LSU fans. Arkansas sports have been around for more than a 100 years. Landing somewhere in the top 5ish is pretty impressive.

For most Hog fans born before the Hogs joined the SEC it’s

Texas
Ole Miss
Texas A&M

Tennessee was heated when they where our permanent cross division rival going back to the controversial Liberty Bowl In the 70s.

I respect LSU. Never hated them.

Arkansas fans looked at it as a rivalry more than LSU fans. In Arkansas, if you are older, you hate Texas the most. If you're younger, you hate LSU. There is very little discussion anymore since Arkansas has been in decline.

Most Arkansas fans now despise Ole Miss than any other SEC team. You know it was bad to the point that both programs had to cancel the series because of the fans fighting in the stadium.

Really? You do not like it because Mizzou continues to beat Arkansas in football! That will not change any time soon!

I appreciate your efforts to make Ark/Mizz a rivalry. It isn't happening unfortunately.

I suggested you go back to the B12 because it is where your actual rival in Kansas is. You just fit better there.

I lived in Fayetteville and that’s not even close. They hate Texas and that’s about it. As a Missouri fan I don’t hate Arkansas. If anything I’m closer to liking them. Great area.

Yep,no team can replace texas as the most despised team in our history.

No other program has screwed us over more than them,it's personal to us older folks.I'm pretty sure the Aggies know how we feel.

There was a reason why we left other than money.

To answer the OP, I liked our Thanksgiving games,I hate they screwed that up.Two teams duking it out.

I also liked our South Carolina games,we had something in common coming into the SEC at the same time.

We got screwed,as usual, and got that taken away.

Oh well, the generations coming up will forget the past and maybe rivalries will be forged.

One thing is for certain,we are down in football at the moment, but we will be back soon. Our history and fanbase won't let us disappear.

We were good before,we'll be back.

Arkansas has no rivals.

We don't, at least not in the SEC. We joined the conference when we were at our lowest point ever in football. We still have yet to be truly consistent from where we were in the 60's, 70's, and 80's.

When you get your dick kicked into your belly button every weekend, it's hard to have a rivalry with anyone.

We'd be obnoxious AF though if we ever did start winning.

Our true rivals has always been Ole Miss. If the series weren't cancelled because of fighting in the staduim in the early 60s for 20 years then it would have grown to one of the great rivalries of college football.
