robably in the past, but it has been around so long I'd call it more of a landmark. And since Steve Taneyhill bought it, there's a lot more mainstream crowd and stuff going on there besides cocaine at 4:00 am.
Have you been since he bought it? It always had that vibe of being a place to go for those that weren’t really in a “social clique” (more or less) and that people were worried it might become sports bar-like with Taneyhill.

Egans in Tuscaloosa. I got a bloody Mary in there at 6am with a full slice of bacon in the drink. I came back from the dead after that drink.
My favorite place in Tuscaloosa.

Had lunch there this past Sunday. Hamburger steak, turnip greens and field peas.

Nowhere Bar is where my parents met back when it was The Odyssey.
Georgia Bar is indeed gone for good.
Manhattan would fit the definition of a dive though it's usually fraught with hipsters. However, they also sell some cheap arse Schlitz beer so that's fun
Other places around town that might fit the bill include White Tiger and Butt Hutt
Also, the "Cozy" referred to earlier is actually "Cozy Yum Yum"

I went there once right after Taneyhill bought it and it reopened. The crowd was definitely different. I think they still do music on the deck outside so that hasn't changed. I also believe Phil Kornblut does the SC Sports Talk show there every now and then, which is something that would have never happened when I was in school.

No we just butcher the cows and sell the meat rather than coddling their teats churning butter
You guys also grow lettuce fertilized from the swine research center and sell it in the cafeteria salads in house. They tell you about that part at Camp War Eagle, but don't mention the ice cream or butchered meat.

Not SEC but you Bham folks remember TC's ? I grew up in those two places .Learned how to drink ,how to fight and how to get laid.

Don't know that it would qualify as a dive, but most of the fights I saw took place at The Highlands in Auburn. Got absolutely smashed one night and got in the only fight of my college career there. My trashy side was brought out in that place for some reason.

Tuscaloosa - used to love Gallette's but its been a while since I've been to t-town so it may not be there still. So much construction on all these campuses now. Been lit up like a Christmas tree on Yellowhammer Slammers in there a few times. Always gotta hit me some Dreamland ribs while I'm there too.
Tuscaloosa is a rip off most places. I remember friday night and after the game saturday we would walk from bar to bar on the strip and almost every one told us their cover was $40-60 and no free drinks. We laughed in their face. I thought paying $10 after a game to go to Bogie's or Fred's was bad. I'll never underappreciate that again. Next week we hit both for $10 a piece and free drinks at both. God bless LSU.

Not a dive. It's a very good restaurant, and my personal favorite in Baton Rouge.
