College leaders are expecting several college football teams to choose not to practice today.

The #OleMiss football team is currently on the Square after not practicing this morning and marching to the statue. This is in response to the shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.

Mississippi State and other college teams boycotted practices yesterday.

Sigh. No college football, either.

They couldn't help themselves.

A few years from now when they have half the audience, they'll be scratching their heads asking "What happened?".

They'll be reminded of this.

Ole Piss players are marching to a statue that they had a barrier erected around because it caused them emotional harm at practice just by looking at it. You can't make this stupid shite up

They will say that they built college football and conservatives tore it down. It's what they do.

Walking out in support of a rapist might earn them the support of others, but it doesn't help with me. I wouldn't have cared if the rapist died.

People really don’t comprehend how quickly a guy can reach into his car, grab a gun, turn, and shoot the police. If cops had me at fricking gunpoint, the last thing I’d do is reach into my pockets or a bag.

American values have historically been that the show must go on, we persevere.

My advice to anyone dealing with the police is cooperate, call your lawyer, and let the judge sort it out.

There will never be any meaningful changes to the rules of engagement by police. They have a right to go home to their families too.

Taking out chokeholds is the worst thought out idea ever, it takes a step in the chain of escalation making the gun a step closer, not further. Literally makes you more out to get shot.

The only message that will deal with the issue of the day is compliance. Defund is going to be a disaster and so is sending in Kateland the KD social worker.

It’s a different statue. Courthouse square vs cemetery

So apparently you can make it up

#OleMiss becomes yet another team to replace practice with a protest against racial injustices across America.

They walked from campus down to the square this morning.

Lane Kiffin is among them.

Not to mention they chose to attend a school that refers to itself as the Rebels!!!! Yet now they have a problem with that choice?

Really, it's just a practice. Let them express their feelings. The practice will be made up later. If it was a game, that's a whole other issue!!!

I don’t have a problem with this at all. I don’t even mind if my team did something similar.

Y'all are acting like conservatives will just quit sports altogether. Some may, but football is engrained in y'all's culture. This place will still be bumping on fall Saturdays.

Things change.

Removing conservative fans from college football kills the business model.

If you were to do an analysis of who is buying season tickets in the SEC I would guess it skews 70-30 conservative.

If half that 70% stops buying the AD is no longer profitable, especially when that trickles down to tv ratings and associated contracts.

If you don’t think conservatives will walk away you have no sense of how tired people are of this political interjection into their leisure activities.

Unfortunately true, many won't realize that they're the turkeys voting for Thanksgiving by supporting it

That's basically it.

I don't think people would mind said interjection if the stats aligned with the narrative.

But logical, fair-minded people look at the stats and realize how detached from reality all of this is.
