Dak isn't terrible, but he also isn't Peyton. I think he's about as good as Eli, though.

Manning's first 69 starts also occurred before the massive passing explosion seen in the last decade. Back then a 95 passer rating was considered great but now it would be average. Same goes for a lot of passing stats.

I will agree that Mahomes, Rodgers, and Wilson are better at this very moment. The rest are either equal or not as good. He is elite. Check Daks statistics and his win/loss record. Then grab Manning’s stats and win/loss record from his first 70 starts. Dak compares favorably.

That’s just so dumb. Manning first 70 starts were in the late 90s and early 2000s. Dak’s are in the inflated passing stats era. In 1998, there were only 5 QBs with a 90+ passer rating and 1 with a 100+ passer rating. In 2019 there were 16 and 9 respectively. In 1998 the guy ranked 16th (so about an average performance) in passing yards had about 2600. In 2019 the 16th guy had about 3600. Even as a Saints fan I will admit Brees’s numbers post 2010 benefited from that too.

And raw numbers are meaningless. Dak is bad in crunch time. Peyton shined in Crunch time.
Dak plays for a much better team than did Peyton until the Broncs.

Dak isn't good enough to elevate any team like Tom Brady did. He needs lots of help but he will never do anything significant in Dallas.

Today’s NFL is so much different than when Peyton was starting out. You can’t really compare by the numbers. 10 QBs had passed ratings above 100 last year. And a ton more 95 and above.
