No doubt.

I grew up in Atlanta and have spent a good part of my life there. It is a beautiful city and as safe as any major city.

If by beautiful you mean graffiti and homeless encampments, then yes, it’s a beauty I guess. I work downtown and it’s one of the ugliest cities around. Crime me is high and homeless abound.

You must work on a very bad side of town. Atlanta is beautiful city.

And the surface streets are worse than 3rd world countries.

Neighborhoods is all there is to Charlotte, just like every other town. Real estate in Atlanta is to valuable to live on for the most part. Not so in Charlotte because it is a town, not a city.
This is just incredibly off base.

You sound miserable. Maybe move to a different city?
Sounds like a win-win for everyone.

He perfectly described downtown (State Capital area, Georgia State, Auburn Ave, Piedmont Corridor, etc). It really needs to be cleaned up and is a blight on the city.

Atlanta is a shithole, period. Especially around GT. Although I’d like to have a few beers tomorrow and a couple chili dogs at the varsity with fellow dawgs. I’d rather not risk my truck getting robbed, or my life being ended.

Lame.
No I have family in town and they wanted to check out the area and a mall.
It’s perfectly safe there. Did not feel unsafe one bit. You must watch the fake arse media all day from your parent’s basement

98% of posters on here criticizing Atlanta couldn’t afford to live in the intown neighborhoods even if they wanted to. Most of them probably live in third world illegal immigrant cesspools like Gwinnett and Cobb counties.
at the demographics of those places now.

Yeah, that’s it genius. Not everyone wants t live in a concrete jungle.
Posted on 11/24/23 at 9:39 pm to Walkthedawg
No concrete around where I live. Atlanta is a city in a forest. You know that right? Have fun out in Winder or Bogart or whatever shithole you live in.

You haven't lived or spent time in many different cities. I've lived and spent significant time in a few different cities, both in and outside of US. Atlanta is fine as a city, far from the worst, and really, as a livable city, probably pretty close to top. Very few business districts/downtowns of any city have a full personality, but there are plenty of very distinctive neighborhoods in Atlanta that all have things going on continually.
And yes there is crime, but guess what, there was plenty of crime in the pretty moderately sized town I grew up in , and places I wouldn't want to walk by myself, and my house was robbed while I was growing up there in a perfectly fine middle class neighborhood. On the other side of the coin, I have walked around downtown Atlanta by myself without being accosted or murdered (even after dark--gasp!) and I have driven through the Bluff to the airport when I needed to avoid traffic to be on time, and made it through just fine, even stopping at the red lights.
