North Carolina pulled off "The Greatest Academic
Scandal in Sports History,"
and what did the
NCAA do ? Yawned and went to bed. Only the
village idiot would expect them to nuke the
Golden Goose.

This. College basketball is where the NCAA makes its money. The NCAA will not bite the hand that feeds it.

They make more off of basketball then football? I guess because of the NCAA Tournament?

So under the right circumstances, if Bama makes it to the Sweet 16, might there be an MNC in basketball for their future?

Haven't looked up the numbers but obviously the CFB playoffs have nothing to do with the NCAA...so that might play a part.

Yeah, they own the post-season tournament market with basketball but lost control of football long ago. But...football is way more profitable than basketball for the universities themselves. It can be argued that the NCAA actually worries more about football because it is still an organization comprised by member institutions and it really doesn't want to alienate them and spark huge backlash.

As my Kentucky-born father-in-law put it, "I guess we don't ever have to worry about those problems like Louisville because most players would kill to play for a program like Kentucky."

81% of their revenue comes from March Madness.

Yes. And I have no delusions about this and I fully expect UCLA to be implicated

I guess you have not read any of my responses. No fan should feel cocky saying their program is clean.

Especially if the coach of the program is John Calipari

Does it happen? Probably. But I like to watch the world burn and would absolutely enjoy the melt if several other programs went down with Cal and Kentucky still standing.

The top programs have been buying players for 50 years.

The NCAA isn't going to do shite about it

The interesting thing is this is a federal investigation. I wonder if they will do football next?
