Been a few times, I've seen articles, based on things posted on this forum.

It also doesn't help that sports journalist right now are getting moved "up" in their profession by being investigative journalist. Look at the moves guys like Pete Thamel and Pat Forde have made in the last 6 months. They've writing less about the actual sport and more about being the NCAA defacto henchmen.

Hell, I can come on here in the morning and read through the recent threads, etc. Get my arse in the car to go eat lunch, turn on the local sports radio, and those goobs are discussing the exact same topics that are on this board.

They sit on their asses, read message boards and regurgitate what they've read on the internet.

Na, but you're pretty good at wording your posts to get the response you want. Carry on......

Back to the article. The crazies now have internet forums to get their conspiracy theories out to the public. People obviously like that stuff and the media runs with it.

In two weeks and two days (when Vandy and USCe kick off) all this nonsense will stop. Well, until next off season when it will start up again. The exception to that was Cam Newton, who singlehandedly won a national championship. His saga continued right through the season.

So you think Auburn would have won the MNC again last year if he came back?

The columnist is describing one of fifty states. It's about football everywhere else.

I don't know anything about Scarbinsky, however, if an Auburn fan from out of state thinks this is spot on, then I would regard their opinion as more credible verses an Auburn fan who lives in Alabama and has put up with Bama fans year round. Both fan bases that live in state cannot see the forest for the trees sometimes.

If we want it to get back to football, pure football, shut down the recruiting services like Rivals and 247 or whatever it is called. That way fans wouldn't know who was recruiting who until signing day. I hate recruiting right now because it puts these high school kids in the spotlight and gives more opportunity for fans to fight over them.

No kidding. I remember when Cadillac came onto the seen at Auburn. I didn't even know who he was. You learned about how good the guys you had were when they got onto the field at whatever school you pull for.

Pretty much. Lots of misplaced priorities.

This is Scarbo's take unless it only involves Bama. Like a couple years ago when he drove to Tuscaloosa to investigate the Menswear story. The guy has a hard on for Auburn and is totally disgusted at the big bad bammers accusing his team of wrong doing even though the Foster and Robinson stories were broke by out of state media outlets.

Maybe not but Auburn would have been 8-5 in 2010 without him.

This is what I'm talking about. I never knew who was on the team until the roster's came out for the games. You pulled for your team and the players on it, instead of lamenting over who flipped who and what school had the best signing class or what not. It was more about the team you pulled for and less about your rival until game time.
