Kentucky @ Ole Miss is secretly one of the better games this year no one is talking about. Arkansas opening with Cincinnati is also a pretty stellar matchup.

If anything you just proved my point. The conference right now is UGA and Alabama, a couple of good not Great teams, and a bunch of very average teams going between 6-6 and 8-4. You switch Bama and UGA and they both are either going 7-1 or 8-0.

If the divisions are so identical, then how come the West dominated the East last season (again)? The West won 10/14 cross-division games. Hell, take away Bama, and teams 2 - 7 in the West still went 8-4 against the East last season. That's the point you're missing. A 6-6 or 7-5 record in one division is not equal to the same record in the other.

No matter how much you want teams 2 - 7 in each division to be equal, they're not because you cannot ignore the West's dominance of the East on the field.

It's not an apples to apples comparison and hasn't been since about 2010.

I have no problem admitting the schedule looks pretty easy this year.

I also know that you whine about UGA’s schedule every year, yet we’ve finished Top 20 in SOS every year since 2017 and on average have had a tougher schedule than Bama during that span.

Bama
2021- 4th
2020- 2nd
2019- 85th
2018- 4th
2017- 6th

AVG: 20.2

Georgia
2021- 10th
2020- 14th
2019- 5th
2018- 3rd
2017- 1st

AVG: 6.6

Cry. harder.

Neat stat distortion with the one year 85th ranking.

The median, which is more relevant, is Bama 4, UGA 5.

Get rid of the 1 year outlier and it's Bama 4, UGA 4.8.

Get rid of high and low and it's Bama 5.3, UGA 6.

I'm as die-hard as they come, but TAMU has way too many questions, especially at QB, to be rated that high.

We absolutely dominated you last year. You have absolutely zero room to talk shite. Would do it again this year too.

I always look forward to when UK comes to town, because the vast majority of their fans that come are cool and like to party. Win or lose, it should be fun!

I gotta agree here.. that 85 skews it a bit.. the fact is both Bama and UGA play really tough schedules no matter what others say…. Y’all act like they are playing Clemson’s schedule.

The East is not great, but neither has the West been of late, though it is still better. The bottom line last year was that UGA was the better team. I don't think many realize just how good Bryce was because the OL was bad. Though Bama was the better team in each of these games and deserved to win, they scraped by AU and UF and struggled with Ark, though they seemed to have control most of the game, and struggled with a dysfunctional LSU team.

If the new OL coach is not what Bama hopes the team will have some of the same troubles again this year. There is no Neal on this OL. The RBs are much better, but the WRs are untested at Bama, though very talented. Again, Bryce was even better than he appeared last year. He really deserved that Heisman, though it was a weak field.

We have an early chance for a big upset. I'm quite happy meeting #16 Pitt at their house as an unranked team.

It’s a bunch of average teams across the board and the West division is slightly better. There, I will concede. You are right the West is slightly better. I was wrong saying they’re identical but The original point that Bama has to go through some sort of gauntlet is a joke. The West is not what it was 10 years ago. LSU isnt consistently going 10-2/11-1. They’re going 8-4. A&M goes 8-4 every single year. To act as if Bama is playing such a gauntlet every season is simply not true. UGA showed that last year by literally pounding 3rd place West Arkansas into dust, when the hogs played literally everyone in that division close.

To sit here and act like the West is some sort of gauntlet is utter bullshite. And Georgia would’ve gone 7-1 or 8-0 against the West last year and it’s not up for debate. You are a bunch of teams that are slightly above average. You are slightly better than the East, I concede again. But to act as if the West is some sort of gauntlet is complete horseshite lol. This is not 2011 when the West has 3 top 5 teams. Everyone is middle of the pack and then Bama and UGA in this conference.

Surprised this hasn't been discussed more, albeit I didn't think to notice it either. Rumor is it's some weird misprint or typo. Supposedly there are 65 coaches who vote, total Bama OSU and Georgia's first place votes and you have...65. Seems much more reasonable the Texas first place vote is simply just not real than one of the other counts being off...
