I love the transfer portal. However, if we move to this new football subdivision with school-sponsored NIL, transfers should only be allowed for 1) graduates, 2)coaching changes, 3)NIL from the school is not paid out as it should have been (violation of a written agreement).
Current situation with pseudo 1 year contracts is wild.

I thought A&M said we were all ignoramuses and their giant bag of money was going to keep all their talent in place. Who’s the ignorant anus now?

Is that real? You took 18 and then 23 in the transfer the last 2 classes?
Seems to be working.

So did NIL but Aggy wasn't crying when it benefited them...

Yet, I bet you liked the NIL rules that enabled the talent that Jumbo brought in and wasted.
It's a rookie contract vs free agent contract situation with no constraints. Those kids are getting paid.

College athletes may have it better than even NFL athletes because of stupid NCAA rules stating that NIL cannot be used as "pay for play." How would an NIL entity/ booster guarantee they get a return on their investment, and the athlete not just take their money and jump in the portal and go rob some other school's boosters? They would have to have the athlete under some type of contractual agreement to protect the investment; however, they cannot put anything in writing because the NCAA has these stupid rules that NIL money cannot be used as "pay for play."
So basically you couldn't make some kind of contract stating said college athlete has to play X number of games to get X amount of money, or said athlete cannot transfer before X number of games or they have to pay back X amount of money. That might be going way to far actually putting it in writing and get the booster/ university in trouble with the NCAA.
College sports are hosed with this NIL/ Transfer Portal madness until the NCAA either fixes their BS rules or turns a blind eye to Boosters making contractual agreements with the athletes.

Agree portal I agree with portal not ruining annything for the guys that need a fresh scene annd guys that want a chance ant it anll.
I also think nil is good and good players should be able to make some money off of there traits while they have them.
I don’t agree with them being combined to what it is now. It really is buying any player you want.
Wish it was one or the other not both.

It was just a few days ago where you Aggies were saying “if there was going to be an exodus then why aren’t they in the portal yet?!?!?!?”
