Ohio States goes undefeated. They are in.

Oklahoma goes undefeated. They are in.

The SEC champ goes undefeated. They are in.

Utah goes undefeated beating ranked USC, Oregon, Wash St in the process. Are they in??

Based on "quality of work" Clemson shouldn't be in. The Committee might make that case

If the selection was based on computer models only, then Clemson might be left out in this scenario. But the human element in the committee's decision leads me to believe they would include Clemson, based on past CFP results:

- defending and undefeated champion
- won two of the four CFPs they've been in
- dominated two of the potential CFP competitors (OSU and OU) in past CFPs.

I think Clemson has earned, and would be given the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah that schedule is a total joke. Very boring, I won't watch a second of Clemson uless they somehow find themselves in a close game late. Very unlikely that will be the case.

This is similar to the Florida State program in the 90s.

A great team benefiting from a weak ACC.

I spelled it out a few weeks ago, but this is revisionist history that's frankly not true. Yes, the ACC was weak in the '90s, but Florida State played an absolute brutal OOC schedule nearly every year in the early to mid 1990s.

First off, they played Florida and Miami every single season OOC. That in and of itself gave FSU a very difficult schedule:

1990: #3 Miami; #13 Florida; #19 Auburn
1991: #1 Miami; #6 Michigan; #7 Florida; #11 Syracuse
1992: #3 Miami; #10 Florida
1993: #2 Notre Dame; #5 Florida; #15 Miami
1994: #6 Miami; #7 Florida
1995: #2 Florida; #20 Miami
1996: #1 Florida; #14 Miami

That's on top of their ACC schedule from 1992 on...

I don't see anything like the above from Clemson. Not even close. And the above was done during the age of only playing 11 regular season games which makes it all the more impressive.

Any Clemson people who liken their schedule to FSU in the 1990s are flat out ignorant about the gauntlet the Seminoles signed themselves up for each year back then.

Add Auburn, Florida to the list.

Could it have something to do with the us being so good?

We did just mop the floor with the SEC champ with everything on the line for a national title.

Until somebody in the SEC knocks us off I’d keep my mouth shut, especially considering the SEC east is one of the worst divisions in the country. I don’t give a shite what Florida is ranked.

Oh really? I guess they are flabbergasted right now that Charlotte and Wofford aren't elite opponents.

We scheduled Murray State and Arkansas State.

I would add Kentucky before they lost their QB

Hogs and Vols would at least have a winning season with that schedule

If Clemson goes undefeated they are in
Since a committee does the picking

They will not leave the returning champ out of it

Especially if Bama is in the final 4 as well

Lol. You’re delusional. You’ve lost 3 of your last 4 games to ACC schools, two of them middle of the pack in the ACC coastal and you’re calling the ACC shite.

Potential Vol wins in BOLD

96.6%- @ Syracuse
99.6%- Charlotte
92.6%- @ N. Carolina
96.0%- Florida State
95.6%- @ Louisville
97.7%- Boston College
99.8%- Wofford
92.2%- @ NC State
97.4%- Wake Forest
85.4%- @ S. Carolina

I see 4 wins there
+1 Syracuse just got skunked by Maryland
+1 Wake Forrest - yeah 2-0, but against nobodies

That gets you to 6

#7 Notre Dame in two weeks
at #8 Auburn in November
#9 Florida in Jax in October
#16 Texas A&M later in the year

... and if we win the East, either #2 Alabama or #4 LSU in early December.

Are you really trying to compare Clemson's schedule to Gerogia's?

Yes, but we also scheduled Notre Dame who has a little bit better historical track record compared to Wofford and Charlotte. Not to mention we play Georgia Tech annually which isn't much different than them playing South Carolina every year.

We also play in the SEC and play Auburn and Texas A&M out of the West.

If Georgia played Clemson's ACC schedule, I would hope for a much beefier OOC schedule.

100%

Side note the % against FSU is too low. Unless something doesn’t change quick they’re going to rack up the losses.

Wait for it ....

All of those teams are overrated so that schedule is not as hard as it looks.
