re: Alabama falls to #49 in ranking of all 50 States. Drops 3 spots from #46 in 2018. - canyon critter on 9/12/20 at 10:12 am
So the number 1 best State is Washington and the number 3 is Minnesota? Yes Minneapolis and Seattle seem like excellent places to live.
I’m sure you also think the media lies, yet will stand behind the idea that those places suck because of what you see from the media. Minneapoli...

re: Out west family trip: help me plan route/sights - canyon critter on 9/10/20 at 9:23 am
I’m still scratching my head as to why people are so interested in CDA. It’s a small town on an average lake with hills (not mountains). There are FAR better places to visit as a tourist. But to each their own....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
Funny to read that message then see an edit note right under it.
It wasn’t anything I wrote that needed editing. It was the ] at the end of [/quote that I had to add after I noticed it was missing to include the actual quote in its designed form. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

re: Democrats have spent 12 years attempting to turn everyone against straight, white men - canyon critter on 8/20/20 at 10:53 am
Most hunters, anglers, outdoorsmen, and recreationists are straight white men, and the majority of them stand up for protecting public lands and fisheries from big oil and gas and exploitation. It’s pretty sad that conservatives want to eliminate protections, thus many of the aforementioned vote Dem...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

This board is hilarious. Bitch about people fleeing California and “ruining” the areas they’re flocking to, but insist everyone should leave California because California is “full of liberals.” ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
You have been in the canyon a long time!! For us "city folk" it was virtually deserted. I had no trouble with parking* or waiting for anything almost the entire time there. re: Montana - Glacier National Park & Whitefish trip review - canyon critter on 8/11/20 at 6:50 pm
I suppose you’re right about the crowds being lesser than most years but we still feel the pressure especially with the east side of the park being closed this year. Our roads are still crowded and whitefish is a zoo, but I guess it could be worse....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

Glad you enjoyed your trip. Looks like you did the typical touristy stuff but if you come back you will be blown away in the backcountry. 99% of tourists do what you did, but to really experience the area you need to get away from the crowds. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
East entrances are closed so no car access to Many Glacier and Two Medicine, rest of the park is open.
Cut Bank and St Mary are also closed. re: All of East Glacier Park Closed thru 2020 - canyon critter on 6/26/20 at 7:47 am
The tribe owns all land bordering the east side of the park and they determine the entrances like Many. The entire road is already plowed (aside from the big drift east of Logan Pass). It’s open from west to avalanche. The park announced they won’t be opening the road to cars up to Logan PAss til...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: All of East Glacier Park Closed thru 2020 - canyon critter on 6/26/20 at 7:16 am
The town of St Mary is outside the park on reservation. The park is not going to open the entrance of St Mary, meaning no in and out of the park from town. The East Glacier Park Lodge, outside of Two Medicine, announced they will not be opening this year. I’m assuming nothing in St Mary opens either...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
