... according to ESPN FPI:

96.6%- @ Syracuse
99.6%- Charlotte
92.6%- @ N. Carolina
96.0%- Florida State
95.6%- @ Louisville
97.7%- Boston College
99.8%- Wofford
92.2%- @ NC State
97.4%- Wake Forest
85.4%- @ S. Carolina

What a freaking joke. Their schedule looked ugly in the Preseason, but with Syracuse getting exposed by Maryland and Jake Bentley likely missing the entire season, the schedule went from ugly to downright historic in terms of ease.

It was a long shot, but we had the only team capable of beating them before the playoff.

Oklahoma is already in too.

Can say (with confidence) that..

LSU

Bama

UGA

A&M

And maybe State would make it through that hellish gauntlet unblemished

Adding Florida because I forgot.

If A&M's offense showed up at all on Saturday, it would've been a close game. A&M's defense was pretty impressive considering.

I hate to be that guy, but a team can’t decide how shitty their opponents are going to be. It’s no secret that the ACC sucks but pointing out the obvious (their schedule being shitty) is kind of moot.

believe it or not, but their toughest opponent might just be BC

Nothing to defend...It's not Clemson's job to make teams on our schedule better, including Non-Conference foes like South Carolina Texas A&M. We did our job to be as great as possible. Those schools have their own obligation to become better or be a well-paid bitch..like South Carolina.

This is similar to the Florida State program in the 90s.

A great team benefiting from a weak ACC.

Hell, I think Arkansas would have a shot at going 5-5 with that schedule.

How is Florida not in that...we are certainly better than State and A&M has a far worse offense

Oh really? I guess they are flabbergasted right now that Charlotte and Wofford aren't elite opponents.

And let's get real about Texas A&M... especially considering this series was booked way before Jimbo Fisher was hired... The Aggies have exactly one Top 15 finish in the last two decades of football.

Thinking ahead, here is the risk you run.

TAMU finishes the year with 4 or 5 losses, barely in the top 25 or maybe out all together giving Clemson ZERO wins versus top 25 opponents.

Ohio States goes undefeated. They are in.

Oklahoma goes undefeated. They are in.

The SEC champ goes undefeated. They are in.

Utah goes undefeated beating ranked USC, Oregon, Wash St in the process. Are they in??

Based on "quality of work" Clemson shouldn't be in. The Committee might make that case.

Again way too early. But a scenario like this could happen.

So what you're saying is the two toughest games on their schedule are a decent SEC team and a crap SEC team. That sounds about right.

But one thing, Bentley being out probably lessened their chances of beating SC.

In their defense(can’t believe I’m saying that)... it’s almost impossible to put together a legit schedule in their division/conference. They play SC every year and consistently schedule UGA, Auburn, and now A&M. They can’t make the sh!t teams in their conference respectable.

There is virtually no chance 4-5 teams goes undefeated. Last year was about as close as you are going to get with the ND factor, but they won't be an issue this year i suspect.

Hypothetically it could happen I suppose, but it's a huge stretch. In this scenario I would just accept fate and if they don't feel the the national champ for 2 of the last three years deserves a seat at the dance with a 15-0 record I would enjoy that war...It would be fun and would probably accelerate expanding the playoffs much like Alabama and LSU ended the BCS era when they played twice in the same year.
