You dont get the point when you play a South Carolina and a Florida before playing Bama like Lsu did last its games where the players have to put forth twice the energy then playing a vandy or say a tennesse. Lsu plays thier share of rent a wins but let Bama play two more tough physcial games in the sec every year and then you will see a different record from the tide. Also for some reason you point out that lsu should put away the easy sec teams early so their starters can rest, good point. but Lsu played Ole miss and they played yall good last year and arkanas is always a tough out for lsu. But thats the topic for another thread. Tigers have played down to thier opponets since the late 1950's and probaly has more to do with the Care free attitude us Louisiana boys grow up with then anything else. Saban couldn't even change that when he was here. Having been living in rural central alabama for the last 3 years i notice a big difference in these country folks having more of serious attitude then your typical south louiiana native.

This part left me hopeful:

Miles even said he wouldn’t be staunchly opposed to going to nine conference games down the road.

“I’m for doing whatever we can to make it balanced for all teams,” he said.

I think 9 games is the way to go.

Pairing off the Big Six (LSU-Florida, Tennessee-Bama, Auburn-Georgia) is fine by me. Sucks that Tennesse has sucked lately but they'll get back to snuff one of these days. Wasn't that long ago LSU sucked balls 6 years in a row.

9 games is the best way to make sure everybody gets to play more variety from the other division. The way it was before Mizzou and A&M.

I think 16 teams would be a big mistake.

Move UT to the West and Arkansas to the East so they can be in the same division as their rival. Everything is now fixed and you can do a 6-3 situation. The problem with 9 games is figuring out how Bama gets 5 home games every year without using the term "bridge schedule."

The conspiracy to help Bama repeat again is obvious considering they scheduled Ole Miss to play in T'loosa for the second year in a row.

Why does an Ole Miss fan care about the teams at the top of the West and their schedules?

If Nick went to the SEC offices and tried to pull strings to get out of playing Ole Miss on the road, they'd laugh him all the way back to Tuscaloosa.

At least the idea of a conspiracy to avoid Florida and UGA is conceivable. Ignorant, but conceivable.

It doesn't need to be equal every year. It has to be equal over time. Balance has to be achieved over time.

Then what timeframe do you propose would be adequate to achieve this balance? That's the question. Is 20 years too long? Is 10 years too short?

looking at the curent schedule

theese simple changes could have been done..

UGA HOSTS MIZZ ON SEP 14
UGA OPEN SEP 28
UGA HOSTS BAMA OCT 12

UK HOSTS LSU SEP 21
UK OPEN OCT 19
( THEY ALSO HAVE OPEN DATE ON OCT 19TH, BUT THEY COULD MOVE ALA ST THERE OR FIND SOME ELSE AND DROP THEM)

MIZZ VISITS UGA SEP 14
MIZZ OPEN OCT 12

BAMA VISITS UGA OCT 12

AUBURN OPEN SEP 12
AUBURN VISITS LSU SEP 28

LSU VISITS UK SEP 12
LSU HOSTS AUBURN SEP 28

HOW WOULD THIS NOT HAVE BEEN FAIR?

Well If you really must know, I didn't notice I locked the caps until I was done. Glad to know this site has a board keyboarding etiquette patrol!

Once you hit 800 posts, the site auto corrects such errors. Until then, you are left to be the subject of scorn.
