Irony. Do you know the meaning. It must physically hurt to be as ignorant as you appear on this board.

So I guess Pitts' hand timed 4.44 40 was more like a laser-timed 4.6-4.7 right?

I don't understand all of these mocks with JC being selected over Smith.

Did you not see how Justin Jefferson performed in the NFL this year for a team without a big time QB?

I know there’s no guarantee that Chase will be as good as Jefferson in NFL. That being said he could be more talented then Jefferson, so it’s not ridiculous to think he could be even better.

That is one of many reasons for Chase’s high projections.

Both were very, very good college players, with Smith arguably having a GOAT college WR season in the books.

Chase is just a little more traditional body type for projecting comps in the NFL. I think Chase is the safer pick here to avoid a bust, but Smith has more of a chance to be a transcendent player as he’s so different

They should pick ME before either of them.

I’m 5-9, 220 and can run the forty in 6.0 flat (if I don’t pull a hammy).

so there have been two wr's in modern NFL history that almost fit Smiths profile yet both were much more compact players.

Desean Jackson 5' 9 3/4" 169lbs
Marquise Brown 5' 9 1/2" 166lbs

Devonta Smith 6' 0" 166lbs

There is a difference. Devonta Smith is a bean pole. Smith will be the skinniest WR in the NFL. Yes he has proven to be durable in the SEC, so far (SEC is not the NFL), but still it's a risk and a negative mark against him when comparing him to Chase.

Interesting. Those results tell me that Smith is still skinnier than both, and neither of them were picked in the top half of the first round, even.

But you're here saying that it should be illegal for Chase to be drafted before the beanpole.

Both great players, but the fact that Smith had to play his SENIOR season to finally become a 1st rd pick, should tell you all you need to know.

Chase came out as a true sophomore and was a surefire top 10 pick. Think about that.

I mean it's not that much to think about. Chase has better measurables than Smith, which nfl scouts put a lot of stock in.

I mean it’s a crime if Smith can’t beat out his own teammate for 2nd wr picked

Irrelevant - the Bengals should have chosen an OL over either of them.
